Depends on what kind of video card your PC has. The Wii has wireless built in, but does not output at a very good resolution.
I have netflix and I was wondering if it is easy to hook up my wii for streaming from Netflix or just watch on PC and hook it up to my TV?
What say you all?
Okay, I just requested the setup disk from netflix. I assume now I have to setup the wii for internet access? I am such an idiot when it comes to these things.

on the wii it looked good at my friends pad on his new vizio.
The Wii will not stream in HD... correct?
i have no idea... i doubt it because i don't think there is hdmi out on the wii.
The Wii doesn't steam in HD. I have a tube tv that's in my kids' room. The Wii is hooked up to it and it looks better on that tv than my 720p tv. My 360 is hooked up to my 1080p tv and that's a beautiful picture when I watch. Even a decent video car should look better on the LCD than a Wii.
Does the 360 stream in true HD? I'm pretty sure the best my PS3 will stream Netflix at is not true HD.
1080p true HD or 1200p true HD?
I just signed up for Netfix today and started streaming on my Wii because I was able to find a bootleg Netflix disk to download. The picture is decent but I will only use the wii until I get the PS3 disk in the mail.
lol
I know its not 1080p but I'm wondering if its even 720p or just 480. I'm pretty sure I don't have enough bandwidth to get 720p and I'm wondering if anyone here actually sees it. Then again most people can't tell so w/e.
The Wii is limited to 480p. It has no hi-def cables video out.
I stream netflix on my PS3 and it is 720p. I'm using HDMI cable on a Samsung LCD tv, and it looks great.
But not everything streams in HD at 720p. It seems like most tv shows do, but most movies don't. My tv is 46" and the non-HD programs can look a little rough. You might try those on the pc.
Yeah, but I asked about the 360 and PS3.
Is there a way to tell? I've never been able to see if thats the case other than judgement by the eye.
The 360 says it streams in 1080p. At least, when I check it on my TV that's what it's saying. It's probably closer to 720p but it's still a great picture. However, two things are going to affect your picture. One is whether or not the movie is in HD and the other is your available bandwidth.
why is it you have to get a disc to use netflix on a wii or ps3 when you just have to install the app on the 360? weird...
Because one of the corporations is headquartered in Seattle, networks well with other American corporations, goes out of the way to provide a streamlined experience to their paying customers and because of that, were the first to envision a partnership with Netflix and the only ones to write solid programming for their dashboard so they could make it possible.
The other two corporations are run by Japanese suits.
I'd just use the wii. I'd just stream it through my blu-ray player.
All netflix streams are 720p. The 360 upconverts all signels to 1080p if that is what you set it on.
Now Zune player on 360 has some 1080p streams.
The Wii is never going to display HD, so if you want that at all, use another device. The HD will be 720p for Netflix if your internet connection is a steady 6Mbps or better and your computer is decent enough. Content available in HD will be labeled as such by Netflix, but what ends up on your tv depends on your internet and network connections. I doubt there are many home internet connections that could handle a continuous 1080p stream.
Thats just the 360 sending a 1080p signal to your TV. That doesn't mean the signal coming over netflix is 1080p.
I think most people are missing my point. Theoretically, Netflix allows you to stream at 720p max on certain items. But that takes up quite a bit of bandwidth and I'm not sure many people are actually getting 720p signals because I'm pretty sure most connections won't support it without stuttering. Because of that I think Netflix will automatically downgrade the signal.
I'm assuming a 720p signal from Netflix takes over 10mbps in bandwidth. If you're playing it over wifi then I'm positive you're not getting 720p.
Microsoft is so benevolent.![]()
I'd suggest streaming it though your Bluray player rather than game console or computer.
The PS3 should be able to stream without the disc by the end of this year (according to what I've read) after a system update.
