I remember reading an article some years back that inner-city elementary schools were actually calling children whose parents spoke ebonics "bilingual" and thinking about how stupid we were making our kids. Now, I'm thinking maybe the bilingual theory had something to it - that certainly didn't sound like any spoken language previously identified. I wonder if he can read in English.
