I want to get on board with this show, seeing as how it co-stars Chrissy, but I can't get over seein him as a cop.
Caught this by chance tonight but I am really glad I did. It was a damn good show and the writing and acting were very well done.
I hope the series is able to live up to the promise of the pilot.

I was just telling Jess how I thought it was genius he waited so long to do something again because this role could not be more different from his Sopranos role but he's really really good. I wouldn't say he stole the show but he's definitely the most prominent person.
I'll hafta check out the pilot, assuming it's as impressive as you say.
I liked it.

I guess I don't have to watch it now...thanks.
I had heard about this one and was hoping to catch it, but TCM has Vivien Leigh movies on Tuesday nights for the month of September so maybe next month or online. But I didn't realize this one was on ABC; that pretty much dooms it for me I think----every drama I've ever seen on the 3 networks gets so soap-operish right away I end up![]()
Oooops
Maybe you should edit out the spoiler.
I missed it this week but saw the pilot a few months ago. Did it still have a do entary style? I found that a little jarring but then I heard they were cutting some of those pieces out because it didn't test well.
If you liked this you might DVR Blue Bloods on Friday. Tom Selleck's mustache in all its glory, but also a pretty intriguing cop/family/conspiracy drama. I'm not usually into cop dramas, but I liked the pilot and I'll probably catch a few more episodes to see where it goes.

Saw it. Good stuff! -- also - saw Raising Hope on Fox... that was one funny show!!! Well written!
Me too.Cloris Leachman cracked me up.
Didn't watch it, didn't do too well in the ratings either.
Cloris Leachman was SPECTACULAR! "GET THAT DOG OFF MY COUCH!"
I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't expecting to get into it. Let's see what how it goes next week.
Listening to local sports radio here in Detroit, no one seems too impressed.
<-- didnt watch it, never will
It sort of reminded me of Homicide, but not as good
I saw this before heading out for the night and really liked it. Overlooking some of the weaknesses, it was much better than I expected.
Manny,
Are you still watching? It's getting better every week.
I watched it and thought it was okay. I watched Hawaii 50 too.
I'm really getting a kick out of the gritty cinematography and use of handhelds... and the soundtracks are killer! Awesome production quality lends itself well to pretty well written scripts and acting. I'm really enjoying this one!
I wasn't crazy about Detroit 187. I kept getting the impression out was trying too hard to be Southland & failing@out.
Raising Hope was cute though.

It was okay. It seems mostly a cops-crime show and it has no character development. There's the old guy, the jaded cop, the new cop, and their boss. The phone is overplayed and it cheapens the ending. Moltisanti's last scenes in the house are not fresh. The acting is good, but the fact he didn't have a jacket on just kills me.
So-so show. And living in the Detroit area, we may be violent, but not that violent. We don't have standoffs every day. It wasn't just another day and that had no weight in the show. They treat it like they'll have a standoff tomorrow and that's insulting.
