2000 was his best year overall best season since Prime MJ ...but his Playoff run this year was the best post-season since MJ ...but this was the beginning of the end. Shaq though eeffective in 2003 - 2005 was never this dominate again ...

What I hate more then anything is when a casual fan will look at current Duncan or Current Shaq and take it as a reflection of what they used to be. Meanwhile both were 20x more dominant in their respective primes.

I tell you what duncan was never THIS dominate ...but his dominance was sustained year after year. tht is why duncan>Shaq. If shaq kept the performance you posted here up longer, shaq had a chance at GOAT ...

He was something else to start this decade. Still my favorite Laker I've ever watched play.

I agree since Hakeems and MJ's playoff run that was one of the best ever! Add Duncans 2003 playoff run to that and we got a fukkin wrap! Period.

Shaq could have definitely been a G.O.A.T Candidate. Up there with Russell,Kareem and Wilt center wise. But I've heard many Shaq fans say compared to other all time greats Shaq didn't have the same motivation.

There's no telling what he woulda done had he stayed in shape. His one full season in Phoenix when he stayed in great shape, worked on his FTs with a good shooting coach, and was on a conditioning program, he put up 17.8 PPG on 60% shooting, 60% FT shooting, 8.4 RPG, and 1.4 BPG at age 36. Comparable to the numbers Kareem put up at age 36, and it was done on a team that was a mess. If he was in that shape his entire career, he woulda been the best center of all time, maybe best player.

Agree x10. that is WHY some Laker fans are harsh on Shaq. Not because of Kobe, or being ungrateful (though some are for those reasons) for the les but because we are greedy and we know Shaq left a few more rings on the floor. And even if they dont get a few more les, he could of left no doubt about GOAT center and he could of made an even greater case for challenging Mj, than Kobe or Duncan. But he was OK with doing just enough.

Ridiculous. I always marveled at Shaq's quickness and coordination for someone his size. People like to say like "all Shaq did was bulldoze his way to the rim" but the guy had a great jumphook from the middle and the baseline. And his passing was always underrated. He drew 2-3 defenders just about everytime he got in the lane and was great at finding cutters.
