Proxy for streaming video

Anybody successful at using a proxy to access streaming games that are usually subject to blackout? I hate cable and do not have it. However I am willing to pay for "that" basketball season ticket, but my local favorite team will be blocked. Any help suggestions. Thanks

I forgot about the Slingbox. Cheaper than cable
