Reminds me of the mom in License to Drive. She was all preggo and ate a huge bowl of mashed potatoes with ketchup.
Anyone else ever try this? Surprisingly good, but it looks nasty as .
No different than eating fries with ketchup tbh.

I've not done this in a long time but as a Kid I loved this. You kinda make me want to try it again.
The best thing about mashes potatoes is that they taste like potatoes. Why would you want to that up by making them taste like ketchup?
Nasty
So do you ever use condiments with anything you eat?
Do you eat fries with ketchup?
On the ketchup topic....
has any1 ever eaten soup with ketchup :P? Used to do it as a kid, was really good.
Wouldn't try it now though lol
i eat just about everything with ketchup so, yea
The novelty of a potato's flavor wears out fast. Same with white rice. Both get topped in ketchup on my plates.
Same here, except instead of ketchup its ranch.
I can eat almost anything with ranch. Hot dogs, cu bers, pickles, bananas, carrots, sausages, basically anything.
Yeah, I use condiments when needed, I just happen to be really fond of mashed potatoes. And I do sometimes eat fries with ketchup, but it's usually the sign of crappy fries if I reach for it.
I love other stuff on fries, though: chili, cheese, or sauces more interesting than ketchup.
No way in . All mashed potatoes need is garlic powder, salt, pepper, and butter. I second the not putting ketchup on fries unless they suck. And if I do put ketchup on them, it has to be mixed with enough black pepper to start getting dark.
I put roasted garlic in my mashed potatoes.
Bananas with ranch???? You have got to be ting me!![]()
I remember in high school, this one kid used to mix ketchup w/ mus and mayo, and ate it w/ his French fries on a regular basis. Looked nasty as sh*t, but someone else decided to try it and said it was actually pretty good.
Don't know how.
Me too. I used to use garlic powder, but roasted garlic is heaven. It completely melts into the potatoes.
Roasted garlic, kosher salt (I'd use grey salt if it weren't so ridiculously expensive), lots of butter, and a little bit of fat free half & half to make it creamy. That's all you need. Oh, and I leave the skins on. And mash it with an old school potato masher so they stay a little chunky. Nummy.
That sounds amazing...but what's "grey salt"? Is it saltIER?
Ketchup is good with potatoes and french fries. But not with mashed potatoes. I would put butter on that .
Please tell me that's a ing joke![]()
Grey Salt
Other Names: Sel Gris
Grey salt is a “moist” unrefined sea salt, usually found in the Brittany region of France’s Atlantic coast. Its natural light grey color comes from the minerals absorbed from the clay lining the salt ponds. The salt is collected by hand using traditional Celtic methods and wooden tools. Grey salt has gained great fame in the mainstream culinary world in the last few years, and is considered by many to be the best quality salt available. It is available in coarse grain – which is the perfect finishing or pinching size, stone ground fine – ideally used at the table instead of processed salts, and extra fine (Velvet) grain – perfect for sprinkling over nuts or popcorn.

In short, it's a fancy French salt with a really nice, mild taste. One of those things that's not worth the amount of money it costs and that I never would have tried if a jar wasn't given to me as part of a foodie birthday present, but damn if it's not delicious.
dude, mashed potatoes with ketchup is seriously such trashy eating. No person should be doing that, and if you must you better be around 8 years old and you better be acting like it was an accident that all that red trash sauce made it on to your plate
