15 years??!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

The teller handed Brown three stacks of bill but he only took a single $100 bill and returned the remaining money back to her. He said that he was homeless and hungry and left the bank. The next day he surrendered to the police voluntarily and told them that his mother didn’t raise him that way.
15 years??!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????
At least they'll feed him, and he has a home.
Should have took the money and ran.
some prisons are better than being homeless
If he took the three stacks of bills, he may not have been homeless for a while.![]()
yeah that's got to be exactly the reason he did it tbh, otherwise the man would be an idiot. the jury just did him a favor by convicting him and sentencing him to 15yrs in prison. at least he won't need to worry about his living costs in the 15 years to go.
just not getting raped or murdered for looking at someone the wrong way
He should have became a Cop aNd crashed into another car killing two ppl inside while texting....first. Then he would have only got probation.

i wonder which spurstalk poster it was
the amount of money in this case is apparently irrelevant.Louisiana First Degree Robbery Law
LSA-R.S. 14:64.1
A. First degree robbery is the taking of anything of value belonging to another from the person of another, or that is in the immediate control of another, by use of force or intimidation, when the offender leads the victim to reasonably believe he is armed with a dangerous weapon.
B. Whoever commits the crime of first degree robbery shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than three years and for not more than forty years, without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of imposition or execution of sentence.
Maybe it wasn't his first or only ever crime. Even petty crimes add up eventually.
my guess as well.
of course, since this is 10/2010 and the op was 1/2009, he's already put in one year......just 14 to go.
If you rob a bank with a weapon, it's armed robbery, even if you don't get away with any money. There's no "cooling off period" for felonies.
I've heard of stories of people getting anywhere between 3 and 25 years for armed robbery. I would've thought this particular case would be on the lower end.
blacks in the South always get a fair shake
This makes me think of crimes both worth and not worth it. I mean c'mon...if the guy new the risk(15yr in prison) I'm sure he would have tried for a lot more money. If he knew the risk he would have been better off "breaking an entering" for such little cash. Or some kind of "grab and go" at a S gas station.
Any one else know of little risk with big pay off crimes![]()
Obviously he's not going to jail for simply stealing $100..
who didn't know it was going to be a black?
He should be happy. 15 years of 3 squares a day and a roof over his head.
And a bathroom buddy nicknamed "Backdoor".
longcat is very upset by this
