They booed their catcher every at-bat after an errant throw that allowed a run to score. Classless and ridiculous.
Rays put 5,000 seats on sale for Game 5
The team, which struggled to draw crowds all season despite posting the American League's best regular-season record, is making 5,000 obstructed-view seats available for Tuesday's fifth and deciding game of its AL Division Series against the Texas Rangers.

sons nothing against the Rays players, coaches, and staff, but those fans don't even deserve to have a team. The Rays play in arguably the most popular division in baseball with the Yankees and Red Sox, and they have been a solid team in recent years, yet the fan base is still a joke. There are a lot of games where the final attendance number may show 10,000 people, but realistically it was more like 4,000 people because most season ticket holders never show up. They shamelessly jump on the Rays bandwagon during the playoffs and act as if they have been there all along. Worst fans in pro sports.

son I never have a problem with booing, but only if you're a legit fan base that supports your team through thick and thin. The Rays fans are not like that. They show up in October ONLY if the team is in the playoff race and then they act as if they are a fan base like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox fan bases. I'm sure the Rays do have SOME legit fans, but I'm willing to bet that it is less than 10% of the people in that building. 90% of them are just jumping on the bandwagon.
I agree with your take on booing (although I never boo my team) but these idiots ... it's probably their first baseball game ever and they don't even know what they are booing for.
Were they booing him over that or was it because they wanted Jaso?
Pretty sure it was over that. THey hadn't booed him before that.
The Rays fans remind me of the Atlanta Hawks fans from a couple years ago when nobody supported them in the regular season and then all of a sudden showed up for the Playoffs...![]()
... in a horrible location.
A new, better stadium in a better location would most likely do wonders for their attendance.
After seeing several of those "rays fans" talking down to the red sox after the 2008 alcs, I was thrilled to see them get their pushed in by the phillies. I hate the yanks but I do respect them. Not so much for Tampa.
hey if we couldn't get the marlins, why not?
No, let those fans keep'em & give us the Bucs!!
That'll show'em... bet they go to games then!
