By Jeff McDonald
..."I'm not planning on Tiago for the opening night," Popovich said before Thursday's preseason finale against Houston. "If he's going to be ready, he'll have to change my mind."
...He is close to returning to 5-on-5 action in practice.

Wow, I'm seriously starting to wonder how bad the injury was for him to miss almost a month... But I feel that the spurs training staff is playing it safe and wants him to be completely healthy for the season. It's good that he gets extended rest after playing with Caja and Brazil.
I don't see the problem. there is a long season ahead.
Agreed. If it was another player, then I think people would take things with more of a grain of salt. But the majority of Spurs fans are chomping at the bit to see if this guy is really going to bring anything to the table, and he's been nothing but another ethereal player for years now; nothing but potential. After the Scola saga, i think patience has worn thin for most.
come off the bench when he starts playing but I would think the starting spot will be his by all star break.
I just want to see the guy play when I go to the Hornets game and the Rockets game at the beginning of the season.
Not a big deal, just more time for the Red Rocket to establish a spot in the rotation for the year..
"It's never just the plantaris"
Starting to look like there's some truth to it.
Let Tiago rest. I for one am looking forward to seeing how Blair fits into the starting lineup. Tiago can start on the bench when he recovers and work his way into the rotation. No need to hurry him cause Blair is playing well.
He will be fine......Who Cares if he misses 2 to 3 games....
Bonner always catches a break except for when he broke his hand.
I just saw on News4 that Tiago is telling them and others that he will be ready for opening night...we shall see...
The announcers in the houston game said he's ready to play but the spurs wont play him, playing it safe
And you obviously got her brains. Feel free to stop being a moron at any time.
Scola wouldn't have strained his plantaris muscle.![]()
