Not a fan.
I ain't gonna wear glasses to watch everyday TV, and I see only a limited appeal (maybe nature programs) of popping out of my TV. Most 3D programming/movies to date have been really lazy.
Went to Sam's and they had the 55" Samsung 3D tv on display and WOW! That sucka really is 3D! The characters stood out n everything and the quality was just superb.
Also Call of Duty: Black Ops are gonna go 3D as well so that is gonna be a whole new level of gaming experience. Something totally new and amazing.
I just don't understand why these tv's aren't getting that much hype. What do you guys think about those tv's?

You have to wear glasses everytime you watch TV?
You don't have to wear glasses for everyday tv. The tv gives you an option to watch 2D or 3D television. I figured I would normally flip the 3D switch just to watch a movie or play a game.
True, you can flip in between 2D/3D, but I haven't seen anything particularly amazing in 3D yet for TV. So the premium you pay for it wouldn't be worth it for me. Maybe gaming will taking advantage of 3D, I guess I'll just wait it out. Personally, I'm not sure why I would want it in 3D, it doesn't add a dimension of realism for me, IMO.
Not interested either. The price is ridiculous as well.
s all confusing with the different type of glasses and 3d outputs. I know my Mitsubishi 65" is 3d ready and the kit is out for it but its like 300 bucks with 2 glasses. We have 4 people in my family so buying extra glasses can add up fast.
I just think 3D is better for the theatres. With the theatre, you have a display measured in feet, not inches. So the 3D image you have to work with at home will never pass the borders of your TV. Where as in the theatre, the 3D does actually WOW you, since your visual field is practically filled with display, which allows the 3D effects to surround you.
well I saw a sony 3d tv at bestbuy. playing college football. I was impressed, it was like there were little ppl inside a box.
but that might be a problem with 3d tv. It makes you realize how little everything looks.
I'm also a 3D meh person. I think in the end it will wind up kind of like surround sound, something you use on the weekend when you want to watch a new movie, and it's not THE experience, it just adds to it.
Sometimes consumers drive demand but for whatever reason the movie industry and people that make televisions are pushing it even though demand isn't that great. Even in theaters 3D isn't doing that well, just a few select movies do great in 3D such as Avatar.
Panasonic VT25 series is probably the best 3dtv out there. Get that if money is no problem for you.
I have the Samsung 55'' LED and it is pretty impressive, but I did think about the 3D version-but it didn't really seem worth it to me.
I may be wrong but I didn't feel it was really an improvement over the LED.
a couple of people I know who are interested in 3D TV are holding off for the "no glasses" models to arrive. Supposedly they are already available in japan, or soon available over there.
