I'll take the win, the defense will come to them hopefully.
It was the Pacers, they are like the new age Suns IMHO.... They have alot of weapons but their defense is suspect just as much as the Spurs is right now.

spurs high score:
pacers high score:![]()
Well its nice to know that we can score, now if we can add defense to that, we might actually be a really good team
I was following game via the board here. It was a close one for awhile; glad to see Spurs pull it out.
My man, Manu, was on fire tonight but I hope he paces himself; wouldn't want him worn out come playoff time. Glad Duncan looked good too!!!]
Hopefully the "D" will come with time.
Actually, I was surprised that this team can score that much. If we can just play some lockdown defense when it counts, then I like our chances.![]()
Theoretically, with Tony, Manu, and RJ, this team should be able to run pretty damn well. Throw Blair in there too: he's no James Worthy, but he's young and should beat most bigger opponents down court. Also that style should mean less wear and tear on knees and backs, since it avoids the bumping and hip-checking of the half-court sets.
Of course, the first time Manu swoops to the lane and gets slammed into the 3rd row, he's out for four months...
It seemed to me that the defense was really improved in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter - Indy was held to 44 points in the half, anyway.
So I'd say the seeds are there for locking down when it counts, though, obviously, there's a ways to go.
Just enjoy the games man, when Tim/Manu/TP are gone and these guys barely put up 80 points on the board we'll be complaining about the scoring.
48 Minutes of What the ?

48 Minutes of
I stole the le of this post from last night’s Daily Dime Live. DDLer Anthony asked, “…if the Spurs keep playing defence (sic) like this, will your blog be renamed ’48 Minutes of What the ?’” It’s a good line, and befitting of the first 24 minutes of action between the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Warriors.
It was a boringly-normal game in some respects. Tim Duncan continued to push back rumors of death by posting a humdrum 10-12, 23 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. 33 minutes. All season highs.
But that pace. Oh, that pace. 103 possessions is positively unSpur-like.
