Even with healthy YAo picking the Rox in the west? Playoffs definitely (me thinks) SW division conteders ...possible. But winning the West ...highly unlikely.

They need to increase Yao's minutes or just trade him. There is no rhythm for the team and no iden y. They don't have a go to person on the team to close out a game, and to get the benefit of superstar officiating. The team has no toughness or grit, they are a soft blend of good role players that can run up the score before the half only to dissappear in the 2nd half, namely the last 8-10 mins of the game. I'm sure they will dig out of this hole and start competing, but it will all be fool's Gold in the end. You are what your record is and they are a big ZERO and could feasibly start 0-5 or 6..

We are a sack of right now. We won't even make the playoffs if our players keep doing stupid to lose winnable games. Dampier is no great saviour, but I would rather have him over Miller as our backup c right now. We could have stuck with Chuck Hayes with what we're getting out of him. the mavs started their season 0-4 in 06-07 but they eventually ended up at the top of season standing, just something to think about, mavs fans.
