No
Mason was pretty good for a while, and Pop was crazy enough to give the starting job to Bogans. Suckage / insanity is never terribly far away.
I thought Mason was really, really good till Pop sat him for whatever reason. I saw him win a couple of games on his own.
Mason is a waterboy in NY and Bogans is the centerpiece for the failure that is the Chicago Bulls. Good riddance.
This is like comparing Bowen to Udoka.
Mason was the worst player in the NBA last season.
Yet he put up better numbers than Keith Bogans.![]()
i forgot all about udoka. what a mess that was.
agreed, but hindsight is 20 20
Udoka wasn't a horrible player, but he was a far better backup point guard than he was a Bowen replacement. It's nice to finally have guys playing their natural positions for the most part.
In a way Mason can be forgiven for his poor contribution to the Spurs, his short comings were with his defense, confidence, and playmaking, which means he had no reason to play for the spurs once they figured that out. But Udoka, had no business being as bad as he was for the Spurs. He was known as a defensive stopper and it wouldn't have been at all difficult for him to fit in with the spurs.
Really? It's been so long since the Spurs got him that I didn't remember his rep before he became a Spur. Just that awesome Mortal Kombat story he was in.
And the comparison of those two pairs of players is as fair as comparing this years UT football team to last years.
God I wish I could see into the future just to know that Neal's and Anderson's play isn't a fluke, and that Hill and Blair both end up having their best years ever in '10-'11.
The stories all usually had Udoka as a promising young defensive wing who could rebound and knock down the three point shot.
linkThe word is that the San Antonio Spurs are ready to sign Portland Trail Blazers' defensive wing Ime Udoka, who had a good year last year, but right now the Spurs are over the luxury-tax threshold and want to get under it to make the deal.
The express news article at the time which we aren't allowed to quote
Thanks for the timely answer, my good man.![]()
