ok, so I just finished formatting my mother's laptop and installing windows 7 64bits. So far I've managed to navigate through the pain in the ass process of installing all the drivers for each and everyone of the components, except now I'm getting enormous amounts of ping according to speedtest.net. Last check was at 559 ms, when my other laptop clocks at 56 ms.

I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this. Could it be a driver problem? I've downloaded and installed the latest to my knowledge from the latin american HP site. I can't seem to fix it.

Anyone konw what could be causing ping problems? Any help would be appreciated.

you need to install more pong to counter the high level of ping. that'll even out your overall online gaming experience.

It's your mothers laptop, who gives a if she's getting a half second ping? Is she not gonna be able to check her recipes? Is she not gonna be able to beat her old lady friends playing mahjong online?

Why the did you install 64 bit Windows?
