Also dangerous is Wade who is near the top of the list having played 4 fewer games....

The Nestle Crunch Time Stat was designed by the NBA and Nestle to provide an innovative way to measure "Crunch Time" performances -- players who step up when the game is on the line! A formula has been created to measure the top Nestle Crunch Time players, and the formula kicks in when Crunch Time kicks in -- the last two minutes and all overtime periods.
Here's the formula:
(PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO) + 4 points if their team wins
Note: If the point differential of the game is greater than 15 points at the two-minute mark, only the losing team's players will be eligible to earn Crunch Time points.
It's not surprising to see Manu near the Top of the list, But IceColdBrewski needs to check out who is at No. 3....
One thing I noticed, is that Manu hasn't had very many steals this postseason... but in the crunch time category, he leads the bunch. Neither he, nor Parker have a crunch time turnover....
Also dangerous is Wade who is near the top of the list having played 4 fewer games....
wow@Horry
not bad 4 in top ten.
timvp, pls fix up the stats box with aligned columns
Sorry, but only way we measure Wade is against a REAL opponent.
Pistons are a REAL opponent and will show Wade's true colors. If he
is ALL he's hyped to be then he'll come through. I am betting he'll
be stopped.
ESPN has done real nice hyping the Heat.
Sorry... I didn't know how to do that from the get go or else I would have.....
Timvp might instead want to have a quick seminar thread for how to align stat columns....
You know the whole... "Teach a man how to fish for himself instead of simply feeding him fish"
BTW if this doesn't define Ginobili as a stud... I don't know what else would.
ahem... Sequ.
the code thingy dipalays using a fixed-pitch font.
it's very easy but tedious to fix it.
You have to edit your text in notepad.exe or similar usiing a fixed-pitch font, and manually add spaces to right-justify the numbers within the columns.
When it's space-justified in your editor with a fixed font, paste into the code box, it will be justified in /code display.
Actually, all you have to do is go in and put a tab between each columns and take out the spaces. It'll then stay aligned within the code function.
You can try it Hegamboa, or I'll do it.
What a weak formula! There's got to be a better way to quantify a player's performance in crunch time than that!
3. Tony Parker (Spurs) 23 2 4 1 0 12 7 14 8 0 28 47Imagine that.
1/3 of top 15 are Spurs.
The Spurs did a nice job of doubling the Suns' top Crunch-time player...in Crunch-time.
The formula gives 4 points for each win so Parker is just riding Ginobili's coat tails [/icecoldbrewski]
BTW, pay up, .
No matter which playoff formula is used, the score for Darius Miles will be the same . . .
This formula looks a lot like Larry Bird's MVP formula with that little twist of the extra four points for a win. Which might explain why Nash is at the top of the heap.

TP was helped by that OT game against the Nuggets and that he has basically been very erratic and starts hitting his shots in garbage time. Example Sonics game 6.
Yeah they should add a variable to help out the Blazers, the amount of seconds it takes for a player to roll a joint![]()
Or quickly lose a 16 point lead to lose a WCF vs. the Lakers!
Or to never win a championship with arguebly some of the best talent around!
How do you measure a "losing" player or franchise - hint find a Rose Garden!
Um, oooooooooo . . .
1. These stats SPECIFICALLY ignore garbage time, unless you're behind.
2. I must have missed the part of Sonics game #6 that was garbage time. (You know, the game WON WITH 0.5 LEFT!!!)
I swear, for what he does, TP has the highest -to-praise ratio of anybody around (and I'm someone who argued that people saying he was overall better than JKidd were nuts). It's like people are afraid that admitting something good about Tony will get them excommunicated.
Close games get crunch.
I meant to say game 5 and not 6.
Anyways...who cares!
