I thought Richard did a commendable job. Durant is the kind of guy you can't stop, just hope to contain. Not to take credit from RJ, but I thought the whole team did a better job crowding him in the second half.

The collapsing defense really bothered Durant tonight, but RJ definitely had a hand in keeping him a step slow getting to the rim. If RJ didn't harass him, even big men stepping up in the paint aren't stopping KD from getting easy points.

There were almost no easy points in the second half tonight. Completely shut down by the Spurs D.

Jefferson didn't play bad D, but his D wasn't great either..Spurs' team D deserves credit..

Durant has been shooting poorly all season so far..he has started the season off poorly every year of his career so far IIRC, and he's doing it again this year..he took some bad shots tonight..also, Durant isn't a superstar player when he isn't getting to the FT line, that's the biggest strength of his game..Spurs did a good job of limiting his FTs tnight..

durant always has these inefficient spurts. he's like kobe, carter, melo, tmac, and iverson. they are volume scorers.

I got to see 3/4 of the game but Richard and George got help defending Durant. Both of them defended KD well, but the Spurs trapped him quite a bit.

RJ played good D against G Wallace the other day, last year his defense was HORRIBLE. He did a pretty good job guarding Durant today.

On defending Kevin Durant: “Richard Jefferson and George Hill both guarded him all night long and made him work for everything he got. That’s the point with him, he is a great player and you can’t stop Kevin Durant. He is special. But I thought George and Richard gave everything to try to at least make him work his fanny off.”
On keeping Kevin Durant to 23 points: “I think we did a get job of getting in the right positions or a favorable spot. But, hey, it’s Kevin. There are some nights where you can play great defense and the guy can get 50 points.”

His defense is much improved and he was in his face most of the night.

Props to RJ on a great game.

So far RJ's been everything I hoped he could be when they traded for him on both offense and defense. We never thought he would be Bruce Bowen but he's now managed to take up his share of the slack. The 'defense by committee' that I've been preaching since before Bowen left is starting to fall into place.

    RJ was great on D!!!

That was his best defensive game as a Spur.

Big props to RJ on a solid defensive outing.

Maybe it's me, but outside of a sequence or two - with some help, I'm not seeing where Hill did such a "bang-up" job defending Durant. I still tend to think Pop overrates Hill's defense - especially on longer, taller, bigger players.

His D wasn't exceptional, but he is more comfortable, knows his spot and switch better than last year...

Last night's 2nd half was a freaking TEAM DEFENSE !!!!!!

I think it helped that he played good defense along with some different looks with the doubles....Also in the 4th Im sure frustration set in and became desparation....

There is no doubt that RJ's confidence this year reaches into the defensive side of his game. However, RJ will never be Bowen and the Spurs don't need him to be. RJ has a major offensive responsibility that Bruce never had. RJ just has to make the good SG and SF work for their shots, he does not need to be a lockdown defender.

Your right no one can ever replace players like Bowen and David but RJ played some really good defense last night. I give the guy props to come in the offseason and work on your game like a rookie that shows me what kind of guy he is and props to him. ALLSTAR.
