Building from his rookie season, when the Spurs went 22-9 with Grizzly getting 20+
    http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/show...=Blair+minutes

    2010-11 so far:
    11-1

After banging out 15/13 vs Golden State.
To be sure, early in the season the Blairdog was not doing what we expected and hoped for. His offense looked funky to say the least, and his perimiter D vs faster Forwards was troubling. But we knew we could always depend on the Blairdogs hustle and rebounding. Staples.
Matchup strategies will be a must from Popovich whom this year has shown cluefullness.

Last 5 games shooting is picking up (including all minutes whether 20 min or not).
    60% FGs (21-36)
15.5 Rebounds per 48 minutes for the season, still a most Beastly 9th in the entire NBA.

So lets hear it for continued Blair improvement and Spurs Championship pursuit 2011 playoffs!!

Note for you PopApologists. Notice like last seasons thread nowhere have i said Blair is the sole reason nor a main reason the Spurs at 11-1 in games he has done 20+. As stated last season, Blair is a HUGE improvement over the pussified team we had become with FinleyPopBonners meneage-a- and Jeffersons season 1. Lots of reasons we are better this year, and Grizzley Season 2 is one of them. Perhaps you'd be better served trolling over to a PollyAnna thread.

I'm a big Blair fan. He gets way too much undeserved hate around here.

Im not a Blair hater by any means, but that really does not look THAT impressive considering we're 18-3 total.

I don't hate on Blair, I just wish the guy was 5 inches taller. He'd be a perennial All-Star.

I thought the criticism was warranted when the season started. But the last couple of games he has really picked it up, and that's what we need from Dejuan. Hopefully he can keep it going against Atlanta.

This statistic doesn't reflect the greatness of Blair just the confidence in Pop that the team can still win with Blair on the court for 20+ minutes.

The Jazz frontline is pretty good and he more then held his own. Outdid Milsap really. But agree Blair has to do it consistently vs the better frontlines to maintain 20 min a game and/or contribute to an entire playoffs run successfully.

Jazz frontline isnt that great. Jeferson at 6-10 isnt known for his defence, and millsap is undersized at 6-8. When okur comes back theyre still nothing special, whos d is weak, and is a 6-11 three point shooter.

If only all nba teams starting pfs were 6-8, blair would be an allstar.

At start of last season, he was sucking it up bad, but i agree, last 5 gamers or so, hes gotten much better. More active, better passing, less dumb fouls and turnovers.

Blair has impressed at times, and depressed against the likes of NOLA, Minny, and LAC, but uh...this statistic means nothing because we have only lost 3 games. Of course his record will be somewhat impressive

All i really care about is how Blair does against 3 teams. Lakers, Mavs, and Celtics. No one else really matters, we are better than anyone else and Blair will be fine against all those other teams.

If Blair can hold his own against those 3 teams we will be in great position.

Well said in all respects, sir - I concur.

To start the season Grizzly was playing in a different, slimmed down body and obviously thinking way too much rather than playing on instinct - maybe trying to cut down on his foul rate? Anyway, he's adjusting quickly to his new game. Put the early season down to growing pains.
