Nice of them to keep the pressure on the Spurs. The Spurs are playing well and have lots of potential, but need those Mavs on their heals to really keep the foot on the pedal.

Anyway, thanks Mavs for keeping our team ready for the next part of the season.

Definitely. But the Mav's only beat us because they're a tough team to adapt to. They change it up, and they're smart too. But they lack the mental consistency to beat the same team over and over, which is why they can't progress in the post-season. Pop studies teams, by the end of the game, he knows every weakness and how to exploit it.

Plus, the Mavs only have Dirk as a significant offensive weapon. But the Spurs are filled with loaded guns.

they beat us because we have no one to guard Dirt, and Dirt always plays against us as if his life depends on it, making 3/4ths of his shots no matter the range or difficulty.

Yes sir. The Spurs need to find a way to defuse Dirk. McDyess does okay on defending him, but Dirk can have three guys in his face and still make a granny shot with his eyes closed. We need an aggressive big, who will make Dirk work really hard for the bucket.

Perhaps when Splitter becomes a big contributor later on. He's from an ultra-aggressive euro league, so maybe he'll challenge Dirk.

It wouldn't hurt the team if the Mavs are trailing the Spurs in the hunt by a game or two. Hopefully this keeps the Spurs focused.

I thought the Clippers game was far worse for Parker.

Really? You don't think those 16 FTs Tyson Chandler was awarded had anything to do with it?

Yeah, he was in about a four game funk. Not coincidentally, we went 2-2.

We'd beat the Mavs in 6 just like last year if we played this week.

I can't wait for the Spurs to play the Lakers, Celtics, or play the Mavs again.
It'll be a different story for the Mavs next time around, that's for sure.
The Mavs are peaking while the Spurs are getting better and better defensively practically every game. Good to see. Not a bit worried about the Mavs, but obviously Mavs fans are!

The difference between Dallas and SA, well one of them anyway, is that I'm sure the Mavs had that game circled on their schedule as soon as it came out, but the Spurs took it as 1 of 82.

When we're healthy, and you have our attention, you've only beaten us once in a playoff series, 2006, and that went to 7 games.

There's another thread going on about how he isn't physical enough for the Lakers, and I agree. As for Dirk, I think you're spot on. He's definitely quick enough to keep up with Dirk's shananigans. Will he be conditioned enough with the lack of minutes he's getting?

We'll probably have to go through the Mavs to get to the Laker IMO

...and the Spurs are playing their key players 27-30 minutes. Not exactly what Dallas would see in the playoffs, is it?

And here again we have a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black!

No wonder the intelligence quotient of Mavs fans are in perpetual question!

Yes, should help the Spurs a little more with motavation. Then again, Coach Pop quatoed a couple weeks ago when they were on a 11 game winning streak that he had no idea they'd won all those games in a row.

It has seems to me that the Spurs are approaching each game with the sole motivation of "getting better, especially defensively", which also seems to be happening, regardless of won/loss records.
