i wouldn't rule that out actually, he's a decent defender but i don't see how we'd have a chance considering why the lakers traded him to an east coast team for basically nothing in the first place. they chose to keep him away from any western contender under the condition that he wouldn't be sent back.

Joe Smith won't do much for the Lakers, other than play the knock down shooter from the outside role. He doesn't offer much after that, he is like a more skinnier version of Kurt Thomas.

The Nets are making the trades they need to acquire Melo. They're piling up draft picks to send to Denver. I don't know if they want Vuj, or if they'll try and deal him. But he's making about 5.5M this season.
I don't like him on the Lakers, but I wouldn't hate him as bad playing here, I'm sure.He can defend and knock down some 3's. I just don't see it happening. I can't see upsetting this team with a trade like that. But in theory? I think most people wouldn't mind him if he was aggrevating the crap out of our opponents, rather than us.

And what's up with the Fakers the last two years trading away the 'reasons' they won the finals? Trevor Ariza made the Orlando series a non-factor, and Sasha's FT's and timely 3's beat Boston.... Who they got to fall back on this year?

Joe Smith has been a pretty solid role player throughout his career tbh. I just don't think he has much left in the tank. The Lakers are in serious trouble if they expect much from Joe Smith.
If he can share his girlfriend, why not?
