The analogy of the Spurs = Patriots has been going around for a while now. nothing new.
Did a guest appearance on a friend's radio show in Miami today and she gave the Spurs the ultimate sports analogy; a football analogy no doubt.
The analogy is about this series and it goes like this: In football the Indianapolis Colts are the hottest offensive team in the league and are always favored to go far unless they are matched up against the New England Patriots. It seems that no matter what the Colts do, the Pats have an answer in their own, simplistic, non-flashy manner of winning a ball game.
The same can be said about the Pheonix Suns and San Antonio Spurs. The Suns [Colts] have all of this firepower but they continually to struggle and be owned by the Spurs [Pats].
Not a bad analogy I think and it is down right true it seems as the Spurs own the Suns what 8 of the last 9 or 9 of the last 10 times in the playoffs right?

Yes, and I'm tired of it because i hate the Pats. I love the Vikings!
i think it is a very true analogy...both teams are well-rounded and the athletes don't do detrimental things to abate the teams' success.
the front offices have made good decisions to keep the teams compe ive and winning les, or at least in the mix on a yearly basis..
i like the analogy, the pats, at the very least, are a model of success at this point and when we take the le home again this year, we will be too.
It's in most sports..
Defense does it for ya.
This analogy doesn't quite work because it is San Antonio's offense that has made the difference. Phoenix can't guard San Antonio because they don't have anyone that can guard Duncan and they struggle against teams with slashers like Ginobili and Parker. No team this year has been able to shut down Phoenix's offense unlike Indianapolis.
The Spurs gotta win 3 out of 4 before they can be compared to the Pats.
we are talking about gameplay....
although we did get robbed out of last years championship per say.
That was an extended .4 of a second with the clock starter being late.
yes....ty
That shot still pisses me off thinking about it. I'm a mavericks but I felt upset that San Antonio got cheated of a championship last year. Hopefully it is not that close to matter this year. I hate that lakers team with Malone, Payton, Kobe, and Shaq.
it was a conspiracy i tell yah!
they didnt want to overturn the freakin call because they thought it would help the nba...and by they i mean stern..
they wanted the "dream team" to win in the finals...
of course his freaking failed..we should've been there.
I felt like the refs were unfair in that series. They let Malone use 2 hands on Duncan which is normally an automatic foul.
There's a lot more Laker haters than Laker fans. Those Finals last year were beautiful for ABC. Everyone wanted to see Shaq and Kobe go down in flames, and they did not disappoint. I've never seen a collapse anything like that. That series wiped out the proudest franchise in the NBA, and you can bet I tuned in for every second of it.
