Quite a few times I've heard different NBA analyst this year describing the Spurs new look offense similar to how European teams play. I always hear about Pop going over to Europe to scout various players, etc... so maybe Pop has picked up on this "european style offense". I don't follow Euro bball, and was wondering for those that do if you can elaborate on this style of offense.

yes, it is. It's also called the Flex-Offense or the Argentine offense (took Arg to a gold medal).

The Jazz run the flex. The "Euro offense" is more predicated on drive-and-kick. It's not like what the Spurs are doing now is all that different from what the Spurs have done for years, it's just they do more of it now, because they play through the post less. But they didn't just start incorporating that into their game now.

euro ball makes bigs a negative outlier out on the court just making up the numbers

no we are not playin euro ball,

but more efficient on less ball movement and taking the shots the defense gives us...

the only reason they are sayin we are playin euro b all cause duncan is playing like horse out there, but when his game is on is a different matter.

The gist of the defense on that scheme is that 5 players flop at once, and a the refs are so dumbstruck they call a foul because they don't know what else to do.

This I agree with. If the Euros played like this, the USA would have lost the FIBA.

this system pop is playing is not like dantoni suns, where he tried to score within 15 secs and less ball movement.....

we are playing use the full shotclock with less passes, the extra pass you always see is not there anymore, pop wants them not to hesitate to shoot what the defense gives you. The only problem is when the ball is in the wrong hands and you have a low % shooter for the night hoisting up and clanking shots....

we are playing like a well maintenance oil engine running on difference gears when need to.....

the defense still needs work imo, even though we can get stops anytime we want, i still want to see more effort shown like in the lakers game in every other big game down the wire....swarm defense wasnt shown tonight against the mavs, but i take the win.

hmmmm USA NT lost to FIBA NT teams many times, and that could happen again unless USA keep that idea of creating a team

I like the TP to RJ alleyoop play.

Manu sets it up at the right elbow, passes it to rj to the left elbow, RJ passes it to a waiting TP on the corner three, TD then sets a screen for RJ cutting to the hoop for an alley oop pass from TP.
    Works all the time!
