The Spurs don't get enough credit for their offensive weapons or passionate play. That's okay because the Spurs (much like the New England Patriots) kill you quietly and go about their business. This team plays HARD and they play with a strong desire at both ends of the court. Manu is becoming what we all thought he would and soon will be recognized as a superstar not just an all-star. Horry is doing what he has always done. Tony is growing more and more and Barry is gaining confidence in his role. Nazr has been a huge addition and this team still has room to improve.

Looking ahead to the finals Detroit and Miami both play defense and have superstars that can pressure the ball full court. The finals will be physical regardless who it is the Spurs play. The key in my opinion will be the Spurs ability to attack the basket and trust me Detroit and Miami will put you on your ass when you do. The finals won't be easy but I like the way the Spurs are fighting. This current group has some real balls and they seem to always stay together on the court no matter what. They have alot of confidence and don't seem to panic when they are behind.

Who do you all think we matchup with better? Who is going to be the unsung hero for the silver and black?

i love the idea of the sweep but ny concern is to be taken out of rythm waiting for detroit or miami to win a seven game series.

will it be beneficial to giva manu and tim some energy or will it kill our momentum?
anyway this spurs team is so professional that they will be ready

You are right it's always a concern that a team may get out of their routine. You end it when you can and you don't think twice about that. Pop has experience behind him and you always take the rest if you can. The Spurs will end it Monday night in my opinion and Detroit will win in six games to face SA in the NBA finals.

Spurs in 4, Pistons finish in 5.

Not much dead time for the Spurs, esp since Pop will be preparing the Spurs thoroughly for the Pistons.

Will be fantastic to start with 2 games @SBC.

Stan really sounded off about the verbal abuse he and his team received at the Palace, so while Larry, who does whine, and his boys will be concentrating the series, the Palace fans and probably DET/East coast "writers" will be at their abnormal, trash-talking, distracting worst.

A Spurs and Pistons championship series would be very physical. If it were up to me I would want to face the champs because you always want to face the best. Very similar in style and it would be a tough series for both teams. A defensive series but still very attractive in that both squads know how to play the TEAM GAME and it would come down to who executes and controls the turnovers. Very interesting and probable.

Tony is growing more and more
    Worth highlighting.

Going into last night's game, I could not help but think about what happened to him last year after the first two games against the Lakers. Last night, he broke through a wall with his fine performance, and (assuming the obvious demise of the 2K5 Suns) this is vitally important going into the Finals to face-off against either Chauncey Billups or Dwyane Wade.

You just hit a nerve of mine. I agree they will be physical, but I am still waiting to see the Spurs get physical in the lane. Can't be giving those guys layups or easy hoops inside, or be letting them think that they can just meander through the lane.
