i use gamecast on espn on my phone for games, so this ^ is what i saw.

i knew espn messed up, so i only saw two techs at first and though it messed up and meant to put "Manu Ginobili makes Free Throw 1 of 2" but wow...i saw the highlight. I saw "ejection" but it never said who.

Malik is the worst color commentator out there. There were 5 free throws and the Minny commentators were being really butthurt about it.

He's not the worst, but he's not "pretty good". He sucks. He stutters and talks too fast. He's not prepared for the clips they play, he just improvises. It's obvious. Anyone here could do as well.

Some of you guys have a strange knack for false dichotomies. We have more choices (hypothetically) than Rose or Yao.

It's not Rose's voice that I find unappealing. He's not a commentator. He's a talker (never stops). Sean at least analyzes the game, and describes the replays. In fact, the replays are run for him I am sure. Maybe Rose doesn't communicate with the guys in the truck.

There are worse than Malik, but he's not great. Doesn't really have a good voice and too much, actually extremely typical, generic, stock comments and phrases.

But I have no doubt that making original, help, entertaining comments all game long, game after game, is difficult, and way beyond 99% of color commentators, very few of whom can "analyze" better than a casual fan.

Malik talks about the game, Sean analyzes the game. I also think Malik tries a little too hard to be funny. All in all, he's a below average commentator. But, Malik is relatively new to this so I'm sure he'll get better over time.

That being said, I certainly don't want him taking Sean's gig anytime soon.

I laughed my ing ass off when Malik said, "That's all he does!" when referring to the Bucks D on Bonner's 3pt shot. Elliott never would've said that.
Sean had more of natural feel for commentary right off the bat. Malik isn't that bad, he is just not a natural. He will get better.
