    KFA2 Announces Cable-Free Graphics Card

Basically they're selling you the card with the transmitter built-in.
I'd like to see maybe a stand-along transmitter that plugs into an HDMI output and a small, portable receiver.

    THIS RIGHT HERE!

I have been talking about how this should exist for about 3 or 4 years now. I might have to build a desktop specifically so that I can use this (I said I would never own a desktop again).

.... That is, unless I can use some other tech with a laptop to get this done.

Edit: Nevermind, this is what WiDi does.

Does anyone know how bad the compression will be with the OP's tech and how bad it is with WiDi?

    According to Wikipedia:

WHDI enables uncompressed delivery of high-definition video over a wireless radio channel, allowing consumers to connect any source in the home to any display device.

Wow. Yes I've been wishing for this for a long time. Now just give it time for the price to go down and hackers to crack the copyright protection. Oh, happy day.

I don't know. I can't find many details. It would be cool if you could buy multiple receivers for the same signal. Then again, it might not be feasible. I think the HDMI/HDCP handshake protocol is two way, and it would be tough to make that work with multiple screens.
