Personally, I think it would be a really good story to look back on a decade from now, seeing Griffin create a legacy for the Clippers while also recruiting in a good supporting cast. Also, for those who believe Griffin will have an extended stay, do you believe he'll deliver a championship(s) to the other LA team?

    1) Blake Griffin needs to prove he can stay healthy for multiple seasons
    2) He's gone if he does

Call me crazy, but I think he can completely turn over the same old story with the Clippers. Crazy talent, also has Eric Gordon. I don't think it would be as hard as people seem to believe for him to recruit other players.

Was just watching PTI, and they made an interesting comment that Griffin could wind up in OKC when hes a FA. Imagine a Durant, Griffin, and Westbrook trio. Scary.

TBH, his entire career. As long as the Clippers grow up and start winning some more games. He's in a big market, but the Lakers won't ever be topped.

Clipper GM: Blake Griffin will forever be a Clipper
    Kurt Helin

...The Clippers GM told ESPN Los Angeles they are not going to bungle this chance — Blake Griffin may be three-and-a-half years from free agency but he will forever be a Clipper.

“I can guarantee you he will only ever be a Clipper,” general manager Neil Olshey said of his prized rookie. “If [Oklahoma City Thunder general manager] Sam Presti arrived on Kevin Durant‘s doorstep at midnight on July 1st with an extension, understand that Blake Griffin lives two blocks away from me in Manhattan Beach so it’s going to be a much shorter commute for me….”

“When it comes time for him to be a free agent, we won’t be losing,” Olshey said. “We’re not losing now. We’re 10 out of 14 now with our All-Star center [Chris Kaman] sitting around in a suit. The future looks pretty good. The only question will be, in two or three years with Blake, is how much more we’ll be winning.”

If he stays healthy, the big $$$ will come calling at the end of his rookie contract. Blake Griffin is a monster, and he's only gonna get better with experience.

Sounds good, but we've heard this before from Clipper GMs.
As long as Monty Burns Sterling owns them, no saying what will become of Blake.

clippers lineup should mean they do better than they do.

    karman
    griffin
    gordon
    baron

those 4 alone, when playing well, are a top notch lineup.

I don't think he will be going anywhere for a long time. Blake through the way he speaks is somewhat different than the rest as he shows real maturity, not improv maturity most do.

    1. The Clippers need to move. Oakland, I don't give a but there is only one team in LA and that's the Lakers. Stop renting out the got damn Staples Center and playing under Laker banners you ing losers.

    2. SHOW Griffin you mean business. Move your and pay his ass.

    3. Have fun winning games.

edit- Makes me think of the Jets renting out the Giants Stadium. That was pathetic too.

Another Sterling up: he was offered close to free rent at The Pond at Anaheim and turned it down so his friends wouldn't have to drive so far.

The TV networks, Nike and the League will never let any of this happen. They will move him to one of the big money making markets for them. NY? Nope, they have Amare and Melo. NJ? Nope, who wants to play there? Chicago? Perhaps. LAL? 90% certainty as he replaces a retiring Kobe and doesn't have to move cross country and it keeps that LAL money making machine going for the league.

I don't think that he will swap locker rooms(Lakers won't have the cap room anyway), but he will most definitely be gone. If OKC re-signs Westbrook, then I fully expect him to head home. Remember...you have a kid that passed up on legendary college basketball programs such as Duke, UConn, Kansas and UNC to stay in Oklahoma. There is no reason to think he won't say no to big market NBA teams that come calling...especially with a franchise-level player already waiting to team up with him in his home town.

Blake Griffin rookie card auctioning for $14,999
    Kurt Helin

You were just thinking: Should I buy a new car or a Blake Griffin rookie card? We know you were.

Because it turns out they are about the same price, as The Rookie Wall reports.

Panini, who manufactures the trading cards for the NBA, blogged about the rising value of Blake’s rookie cards. The National Treasures card has a few variations with the “base” version, which is limited to 99 copies, that features a picture of Griffin, a swatch of his jersey, and his signature. Currently the “base” version is valued at $2,500 in Beckett, which is the industry standard for basketball card pricing. Copies of the “base” version are selling for more than $3,000 on eBay.

The version listed for $14,999 is limited to just FIVE copies and features the same picture, same signature, and a “premium” jersey swatch, which is usually from the number, name, or logo with multiple colors.

I like basketball cards as much as the next guy (I have an old Dr. J in the ABA card when his afro was the size of a small island nation). I’m a Blake Griffin fan like everyone else on the planet (save Timofey Mozgov). But $15K?

Even though I certainly have that kind of pocket change lying around — because we bloggers are paid handsomely — I can think of one or two better uses for that money. Such as a two waterproof pool tables.

A player of Griffin's caliber shouldn't stay with the Clippers. By the time he's up for a new contract, I can actually see the Lakers or the Nets being a major player here.
