Trailer looked terrible. Probably won't be buying ... or even illegally downloading that one.
+2... it looks too arcady to me, and it just looks like they tried too hard to make it "cool".
Entertaining trailer because of Duke's personality, but the game world looks a little plain and not expansive enough for the current generation. I'm hoping it's not simply a rail shooter and its a more open world to do crazy in, like protect strippers and attack alien transports of female slaves and stuff like that. Must save the women!!
Not gonna happen. Its gonna be the old-school FPS like Duke 3D was.... and honestly, I love those games.
I will probably not be paying for it though.... I can imagine this being one of the largest pirated games of all time simply because people have been waiting for so long and Duke is just not "it" anymore.
after 12 years of reboots and adding touches, this game should be well polished and have a lot of content
^ one would hope. DN is an all time favorite of mine.
I also loved playing Lo Wang, another 3Drealms shooter. His one-liners were hilarious. Basically, he was an asian Duke Nukem

Anything delayed that many times is going to be horrible. Time and brute force doesn't cure bad software engineering.
ehh, Prey took a while to come out and it turned out pretty good I thought.... It started development in 1995 and didnt come out until 2006.
Not saying Duke is gonna do the same though...

I acquired it, and other than a few decent one-liners it's terrible.
oh well, maybe gearbox can make a new one from scratch instead of finishing one that was started in 1837
Played a while at a friends yesterday (I told him not to get it but nostalgia beat out common sense)...
the only good things the game has going for it is the difficulty (its actually challenging!) and the ridiculous weapons and monsters. 3 things kill it though:
1) you can only carry two weapons at a time (this totally sucks and makes the game go from entertaining kill fest to tedious "strategic combat")
2) I've played games 15 years older than this that were better about loading screens, it seems like you play 5 minutes, load for 3, again and again.
3) the humor is not crude, its re ed. I dont mind the game having strippers and sexual content, if done well I'd be all for it, but the game makes you feel like a socially maladjusted pervert by having all the strippers talk and behave like 15 year old valley girls. Add some really lame jokes and you dont get crude or edgy, you get lame, wannabe crude humor, or in other words, re ed humor.
bottom line... the characters, weapons, and enemies for this game are exactly the same as in the original D3D, it took them 14 years to make a game that has very small levels, doesnt feel as interactive as the original... its as if they spent 14 years making the pinball / poker / air hockey / pool / stripper minigames (in fact they probably spent the past 14 years playing pinball / poker / pool / seeing strippers). Major fail, and while I wasnt crazy about D3D, its a shame what they did to the franchise. George Broussard should be ashamed of himself if he isnt already.
