Ok in about 2 weeks me and the wife are getting one and today we went to price them. The only place that sets them up is Sears but it cost 200 damn bucks (WTF!!)

Is there somewhere else that does it for a decent price? I'm ready to post a ad on craiglist and pay someone 75 to do it but the problem with that is I want someone to know what the they are doing and not say "Done, BTW you have some extra screws left"

I don't want to do it, I hate putting cheap furniture together. I don't have the patient for that. Any takers?

    its easy.

anyone that can read and follow instructions should be ok.

well knowledge of how to turn a screw or two would be helpful too.

But any real man should be able to do that.

well, at least from the women here...

edit: the place I got mine from provided delivery & set-up included in the price. It was a long time ago though.

Ours wasn't too bad to put together but there were a couple of quite heavy parts that were difficult/awkward to deal with. Took probably an hour and required an extra person at a few parts. Consider it your first real workout

So you got a treadmill but you are too lazy to put together?

This is not a good start to your Iron Man career.

Yeah. This thread reminds me when Barkley revealed he was training for a Triathlon this year. I need to see if that is on Youtube. That was hilarious. They were ragging on him all night long after he revealed that.

Yeah I'm sure you could do it, it's just a matter of wanting to or not. I know a few people that don't like to put things together, and I'm probably included but for 75 bucks I'd do it anyway.

I have some in-laws that hate putting things together so I've done my fair share of assembly.

Syldragon--we bought ours at 's Sporting Good and for delivery and assembly it was an extra $118, plus with their rewards card, we got a $50 gift certificate back. We just got it at Thanksgiving.

I don't know what brand you're looking at, but we got the Sole F80. From the reviews I've read, you can't go wrong with Sole.

I've thought about getting one, I just don't know how much I'd have to spend to get a good one. I have long legs, so I'd probably have to get one with a longer tread.

I can't run on the sidewalk, concrete gives me shinsplints. I've heard of special shoes that are made for it, but does anyone here have any experience with them? Do they actually work well?

Used ours 40-50 minutes 5-6 days a week to help lose well over 100 lbs in ~1.5 year. Used Nike running shoes which helped a bit with the shins/legs (found them to be the most comfortable). The Nike plus stuff is a great motivator as well if you're into that kinda thing. Walked at first, etc... slowly worked into it. Once I got better conditioned/in-shape, it's (obviously) been much easier to run on trails/sidewalks/asphalt. I'm relatively tall (6' 2") and as far as I know, we have a normal length treadmill. Spent ~$500 I think at Sears.

I blew my knee out last year playing indoor soccer... that along with having a kid derailed a lot of my running but I'm wanting to get out and actually do some organized 5k's... wife is doing the couch-to-5k stuff to try and get to a point where she can go with me.

The only actual assembly that is usually required is to fasten the console to the frame, perhaps bolt on some stabilizing bars, and add the handgrips...

I've put together two, the more expensive one was more difficult to setup.

Anyhow, you know how to reach me.
