no.
Thats if Timmy gets in as a reserve.

Ok thanks.
i think he deserved to go out one last time like what they did for shaq, but he probably prefers to stay at home and play wii
All coaches vote on reserves, Stern chooses injury replacements.
Then Pop picks the starter.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.c...r-cue-outrage/NBA head coaches (or their designated PR flacks) will now vote on seven reserve spots in each conference. Coaches aren’t allowed to vote for their own players, and must include at least one center, two forwards and two guards on their ballots. Once the reserves are named, [David] Stern will announce a replacement for Yao and any other players who pull out of the game. Gregg Popovich, who will coach the West All-Stars, will select one of his reserves to take Yao’s starting spot.
I can't see Pop doing it. The only way I could see it happening is if the players implored him to.
Otherwise, I expect Pop to inflate the ego of Gasol with some very flattering praise and a start.
Kinda surprised this thread hasn`t been started by Rapper...
I expect Pop to start whoever is chosen as the All Star reserve center. The player chosen by Stern as Yao's replacement comes off the bench.
Too bad Shaq is so old and busted, or Pop could've busted out the Hack All-Star style.
Hmmmm....I am truly surprised there is another TD-Spurs-All-Star thread. I am glad to know we care so much, even if there are many other threads similar to this one. I salute you Spurs fan. You may not be unique, but you are sure as loyal. Again, I commend & salute you.
if pop could do that, i don't think so. in fact, i'm 99% sure he won't.
and if he doesn't, you can bet your ass the media will be complaining about it.
I think he'll start if he gets voted in by the coaches
Pop probably does not think he deserves to start and will not pick him.
If he does, it will spoil the whole facade that the Spurs don't really care about things like All-Star games.
I think he'll ask the players if they want to vote who should start, and if the players don't want to choose, he'll probably play Gasol or whoever the coaches select from the reserves.
Im sure he'll pick Matt Bonner instead
No. He'll probably give it to Pau.
Stern will replace after the coaches choose the reserves. thus, it will be someone he chooses and doesnt necessarily have to be a Center.
how they chooose who will start will be wild though
I could see it.
Duncan starts, wins the tip, and Pop immediately sits him for rest of the night.
Meanwhile, Gasol plays 44 minutes in reserve.
All Star is a party. It's as tired as walking.A team practice is harder.
I'm sure TD will be in the All Star weekend anyway. He will have promos or NBA activities to do.It's not like he was going to stay at home.
If he's an all star he will play 10/15 minutes easily like he did in the previous ones when he was starter.
If Duncan gets voted in by the coaches as a reserve Pop should put Tim as a starter to keep the streak alive, and I think he will.
He should, and if anyone questions him about it, he should say, "Duncan's the best player on the best team. If he were on the Lakers instead of Gasol, the Lakers would have the best record. If he were on the Heat instead of Bosh, they would have the best record. If he were on the Celtics instead of Garnett, they would have the best record."
If Pop really believes that "I'm just a dope who coaches great players" that he likes to trot out there, then Tim Duncan deserves some gesture to prove it.
