Nice! Congrats and here is to a long, healthy life![]()
Well, there are alot of 'newer' people on here that don't know my history, so first a quick synopsis... I had my first heart attack at 29. It was a pretty major one, had a stent put in and was released and back to work within a week. Well , almost three years later I went to the doctor cause I was suffering from a pretty bad cough... they immediately sent me to the hospital. Turns out they diagnosed me with Type III Congestive Heart Failure (I had also suffered a second massive heart attack). My Cardiac rejection fraction rating was 27% which is barely pumping (55% + is considered normal and healthy). They inserted a balloon pump, then placed a second stent. They declared me 100% disabled at that time.
Well - I just had my first Echocardiogram since I left the hospital almost three years ago. My new and current heart ejection fraction is 56%... which is 100% normal!!! which means my heart has healed back to normal function!
I wanted to share the good news with you guys since some of my strongest support came from here... I firmly believe the strong support and prayers from ya'll truly had much to do with it. Thank you.
Nice! Congrats and here is to a long, healthy life![]()

Good news!
Great to hear!
That's awesome to hear PakiDan, always great to hear a good story for once.
Do you know what led to your heart disease?
Congrats on your recovery!
That is great, more news like this is needed in the world.
Congrats !
DD
Congrats on the patchup and recovery.
Did they tell you the source of so much disease at such a young age?
Literally...consume wine, PakiDan, in moderation of course

Do you have to give up your heart icon?
JK, glad to hear you are doing well.
Cheers!
That is sooooooooooooooooo Pego.
So take that heart to spurs games and make it work now.
or koriwhat
You forgot the part about popping in a desk drawer
Wow, that's awesome! Congrats. I was kind of scared to open this thread knowing your history from what you've said here before, but that's incredible to hear it's good news.
Hahaha! Nice! Well - I got a Kidney disease at five years old called Buergers Disease. It caused scarring in my Kidneys when I was five. The disease never progressed, but it caused my blood pressure to elevate. Being young, I thought I was invincible, so I never took my blood pressure medicine. The years of uncontrolled hypertension caused the damage in my heart. NEVER take your health for granted.
You'd have to ask Pego... apparently he's friends with Mr. Dio and apparently some pretty ugly things and accusations were said about me when we fell out of friendship. Stupid ..
Out of curiosity, Dan, were there any major lifestyle changes that you credit with your recovery?
Yes. I'm the first to admit that prior to me getting sick, I didn't make the best choices. I quit doing things that would harm my body... well other then eating habbits. I really need to do better with the way I eat. I still have a ways to go there.
Excellent news, Paki.
Great news Paki!
