You can track the daily changes in the matchups

Spurs as it stands now = get one of their dream matchups in Memphis - Memphis has some talent but they also have a bunch of issues including that Mayo light distraction.

Could get real interesting for especially the Lakers who right now would face the Mavs in the 2nd round (assuming both win) while Spurs get the winner the 4-5.

However, what could well happen is that the surging Hornets could move up to 3rd and the LAL (tough schedule ahead) and the Thunder could face off in the first round. It is certainly plausible the first round matchups could be:

1 Spurs vs. 8 Memphis unless Houston or Suns (or less likely the Clippers) catch them (could well be the Suns can due to their remaining schedule) setting up a nice revenge on the Suns by the Spurs - without Amare no way the Suns beat the Spurs.

    2. Mavs vs. 7.Denver - if Denver keeps C. Anthony interesting series with Denver wanting to win one for Karl and Anthony will face less distractions until playoffs over - still Mavs should win.

    3. NOH vs. 6. Utah - NOH probably wins this series but Utah would play them tough and it would be a pg battle for the ages.

4-5. Not sure who will have HCA but could well be Thunder. Thunder could surge with an easier remaining schedule, and are set up to overtake LAL for potential HCA. - surely not the first round "warm up" series LAL fans would want without HCA. If Thunder have the HCA and this is the match up I am calling the Thunder now!

Winner 1-8 plays 4-5 winner in that scenario then we could well have a TX WCF again giving the Spurs the honor of knocking out either the Thunder or LAL in the 2nd round.

Its all hypthetical right now, but I take Memphis over the Blazers any day of the week, although Zack Randolph would average 25/20. And we need the Mavs to take on the Lakers in the second round ...

Only team do not want the Spurs to face is Portland as play the Spurs so hard and well; Spurs would win series but in 6 or 7)
