Bush/Kerry: "Attack ads are for cowards"
    ASSOCIATED PRESS

The candidates for President of the United States are exchanging sharp words over recent attack ads in each campaign.

At a rally in Columbus, Ohio, John Kerry accused his opponent of attacking his integrity in a recent television campaign.

"Personal attacks are for cowards," said Kerry to a crowd of supporters. "The only people who make personal attacks during a campaign are those, like the President, who are too ignorant to discuss the real issues."

Kerry continued, "Maybe if Mr. Bush wasn't a redneck dope from a farm in Texas, he'd know a little more about current issues."

The comments came in response to recent ads showing President Bush questioning the integrity of Kerry's Presidential Campaign.

"The Flip-Flopper has nothing to run on," the President says in the ad. "Instead, he has launched countless verbal attacks on this Administration, a tactic which is both undignified and re ed.

"Maybe if he had any kind of nut sack, we could talk about important things like National Security and Defense. Clearly, Mr. Kerry doesn't care about these issues, because he's too busy calling me out like a little ."

Kerry's remarks came shortly after John Edwards and Cheney had exchanged verbal attacks in the press.

"Vice President Cheney has ruthlessly attacked John Kerry's leadership and commitment to defense," said Edwards to supporters in Michigan. "He's a sucker."

Asked about those comments at a fundraiser, Cheney quipped, "Tell that little got to get off my case."

With the Election only weeks away, both parties seem to be calling for a "Cease Fire" on attack ads. The RNC will release a radio spot comparing Bush and Cheney's attacks on the Democratic Ticket to Communist propaganda, while the Democrats are preparing TV ads demanding that George Bush denounce his party's attack ads.

"But he probably won't, because he's a worthless bag," the ad concludes.
