So, any keyboard players around?

I'm looking to get a keyboard,I've play the piano and other instruments, but at the point where I am tired of depending on other people to make music, so was looking into a synth or a work station and if anyone can give me any information on good keyboards, and or work stations.So far I have been looking at the Korg Triton le workstation but don't know much about what's good quality out there as far as keyboards go.

Basses fine,guitar's great, trumpets why not?,Keyboards are just greek to me though.

I can't really give info on keyboards. I just dont like them b/c they're usually smaller than pianos. I don't know the exact key difference. Just make your music with computers. Then you get the software for the Piano and all the instruments you mentiond

The bigger keyboards you're going to find will have 61 keys - if you want the full range you're going to have to move to a digital piano most likely, which also has the benefit of weighted keys, and usually many voices. If you don't need the full range or weighted keys, then a regular synthesizer/keyboard will work for you - keep in mind that digital pianos can cost you an arm and a leg. Best keyboard brands though are Kurzweil, Yahama, and the like - Korg is alright, too. Call up someone at Alamo Music or something and talk to an expert though.

I would call someone there, but I'm in vegas so, I was looking at getting and 88 key work station and I know they cost a lot I'm looking to put a few grand into it, but just want to get some general information on what a good synth or keyboard is before i pass out that kinda cheese.

Yeah since Jekka gave some ideas I would say just surf the music websites. All you really need to know are the good brands, and what your looking for. Let me know if you need some websites I can help find one.

Yea I think on a synth/workstation you lose an octave with the 61 key model mayeb 2 octaves, but that's why I'm looking 88 key, besides recording I want a work station for that and also to be able to play live.
