go LINUX!
Always been a mac guy, have a fairly nice, newer one but after a battle of wills, I'm buying a new one for a dedicated office computer. Looking at a PC bc of price. I want something reliable like our mac. Mainly internet, some minor spreadsheets. Never used any virus software before, what's a decent one?
Don't have a monitor or brand preference. Any suggestions?

Linux is awesome and what I have been using for years, but has a learning curve and if you aren't somewhat of a programmer then there's no reason to use it on a desktop machine. If you want security without the learning curve then Mac is the way to go.

I think he meant mini-ATX form factor. In other words, a small motherboard that allows you to use a small case for your computer. I'd pass on the ati graphics suggestion too. What a waste of money to put a video card in something that isn't going to be used for gaming, graphical work, nor viewing HD video.

Apple's only real advantage in hardware is that the only hardware installed in their machines is that which has been tested and approved by their engineering.
The reliability, however, is really in the software. As long as you're running Windows, it ain't gonna be no OS X (or whatever variation of Linux). Find a good registry cleaner, antivirus program (AVG), and spyware (SpyBot), though, and that will help.
Crap, that's a tiny board; I never knew they made them that small. I guess I haven't looked since I like a large case, as I have lots of hard drives and just stick the computer under the desk.
