Help me!!!!
You have to know that last year's 4 game losing streak to lose to LA is in the back of their minds, because it is in mine.
IMO, the best time to win the series was game 4.
I have feeling of impending doom.
I can see Phoenix winning tonight, stealing game 6 and winning game 7 at home in front of a frenzied crowd who will think they are witnessing a miracle, on the scale of the resurrection of Christ....no really, but it will seem like that to them.
I think seeing our Spurs choke 27 times over the last 29 yrs has turned me into a cynic of global proportions.
Remember, a cynic is nothing more than a disappointed idealist.![]()

oh OK...you kinda hid it there...![]()
Kori always likes winning wine from you...
I'd suggest Tbong, but he'd bet on the Suns too...![]()
It's just not time to panic. I don't have the Lakers series in the back of my mind, because we're talking about two totally different teams. And two completely different challenges. LA was just as good as we were. Robert Horry had something to prove. Parker and Turkoglu disappeared. Manu was good, but not as good as he is now. The games weren't this close.
Oh, and we were only up two. I didn't start worrying until after that shot went in. Then I didn't have time to worry. I knew it was over.
I'll maybe be worried if we lose tonight.
We're not down. We're not tied, 3-3. We're up 3-1. We need one point when the final buzzer goes off to have a great shot at winning the championship.
Calm yourself.
Nervous? Sure. Be nervous. Worried and anxiety and angst-filled as you are now? Very very bad for your health. It is only a game after all. . .
If we are facing the Lakers team that eliminated us last year then I would probably feel the same but not this time only because we have two superstars now (Tim & Manu). And Manu this year has elevated his game and has all the confidence to take over games too like Tim.Have faith!
Breathe in... breathe out...
Seriously, most people picked the Spurs to win in 6, some even said in 7. I think we got too pumped up going up 3-0 and it made the loss in Game 4 seem bigger than it is. The team had a minor meltdown on defense and the Suns took advantage. Tony and Timmy didn't have their best games - the shots that they took normally go in. Timmy obviously had some free throw problems. All that said, we only lost by 5! A few of those shots go in and we win. Even if the Spurs were to lose tonight, and that's a HUUUUUUUGE IF, do you really see them losing 3 in a row? Not these Spurs.
Alright Jim, with a prediction like that you should put your le "Nostradamas Jr." on the line. If the Spurs take the series then your premonitions can no longer be trusted
Please! You don't choke with Walter Berry and Dallas Comegys. You just lose and lose often.
There were a few choke-jobs in there but please Jim, just rinse and spit that bad taste out of your mouth like you tell your patients. "This is not going to hurt."

All good points, but I have to question this assumption that the Tim Duncan Spurs are chokers.
When was the last and only time that Duncan's Spurs have blown a series where they had the lead? The Lakers in 2004.
Add to this fact that the only team to beat a Spurs team with a healthy Duncan are also the aforementioned Lakers....
It's all good. Just sit back and enjoy good basketball tonight. Win or lose, Spurs are still in the lead.
Choke was a poor choice of words. How about fail to achieve and live up to my inflated expectations?

You guys are doing what I asked...you are making me feel better....keep it up.

Self awareness is indeed the first step in change.
Should we start singing, "You are my sunshine..."?![]()
I will only be worried if they lose Game 6. Folks, the Spurs are SUPPOSED to lose tonight, so expect that to happen but root for the best. The series will most likely be finished in six, which sucks because I have a wedding to attend that night.
Count your blessings, Jim. It could be worse. You could be from West Virginia.

It's just gas, Jim...get you some of this:

I know how you feel Jim, I have anxiety that really gets out of control come Spurs playoff time. Before Game 4 I was in a complete panic and then when we lost I had these visions of a self-fulfulling prophecy that the Suns would come all the way back. It was my wife who had to calm me down. She looked right at me and said "Calm down. It's 1 freaking game. The Spurs are up 3-1 and no team has ever come back from 3-0 to win. It is not going to happen this year. The Spurs are too good and they still have another home game if they need it." I really just had to think about it and put into perspective. She was right. It was just one game. I'm not even going to panic if we lose tonight, because I know there is no way in we will lose Game 6, simple as that. We are going to the Finals.

That reminds me of what happened in golf last weekend.
I was in a big tournament and on hole number 18, I had about a 20 ft chip to birdie that last hole. I said "I have a feeling I am going to make this chip." One of my compe ors said, "It's just gas."![]()
I made the shot, btw to get 3rd place.![]()
