Lakers
Lakers current lineup
Fisher
Byant
Artest
Gasol
Bynum
Knicks new lineup
Billups
Fields/Azubuike
Anthony
Turiaf/Williams
Amare
Edit: Not debating who has the better overall team. The Lakers obviously hold that le over the Knicks. This is a debate on who puts out the best starting 5.

Looking at this now, it kinda is a stupid ass question, but at the spare of the moment I thought it was a good one.

Wrong, this question is golden![]()
Not a fan of the Amar'e-'Melo pairing.
The former's essentially a power-forward chucker and the latter's a fallaway puncher.
Lakers.
But that's a pretty decent line-up for the Knicks.
Lakers, hands down.
Off topic: I tell you what, they match up really well with the Heat. I can't wait until they face off. LBJ can't check Melo and Bosh can't check Amare. Should be fun to watch.
Mavs if they would start Marion
Kidd
Roddy
Marion
Dirk
Chandler
The Lakers have a far better starting lineup, and the Knicks are probably deeper at this point.
knicks still have to fill a lot of holes in their lineup. lakers are a contender right now. not a fair comparison
Point was, the Lakers aren't very good past their top five players.
Though Brown, Odom and Barnes (did he go in '09?) have all played in the Finals.
Lakers
The Knicks need a defensive big and there's no getting around that. Turiaf ain't gonna cut it. The Heat have a more intimidating defensive frontcourt than the Knicks.
Not a bad question, considering how bad Ron has been playing ...TBH.
But knicks have no size and only Landry is a quality defender ...Turiaf gives you hustle and shotblocking though ...
From the standpoint of pure talent the Lakers have the edge, but it's not by a huge margin. But looking at how the team is constructed, guys having defined roles, etc. it's the Lakers by a mile.
True. Experience counts. I actually counted Odom as one of the top five, and didn't count Barnes since he's not back yet. Even if you do count him, having Brown, Barnes and Fish completing the short rotation ain't great.
Lakers, imho. Although Billups/Melo/Amare is a lot of talent. Im looking foward to watching how they play. It will be interesting to see how d'antoni runs the offense.
Don't be such a GNMF.
the knicks wit melo/cbill/AS clearly have better starting 5 then the FLAKERS.
isn't even close fa real.
