If Denver gets the 8 seed that would be sweet, with New Orleans getting either 7 or 6 to face LA/Dallas would be my ideal first round.
Current standings:
1. San Antonio Spurs (46-10)
2. Dallas Mavericks (40-16)
3. Los Angeles Lakers (39-19)
4. Oklahoma City Thunder (36-19)
5. Portland Trailblazers (32-24)
6. New Orleans Hornets (33-25)
7. Denver Nuggets (33-25)
8. Utah Jazz (31-26)
9. Memphis Grizzlies (31-27)
10. Phoenix Suns (27-27)

from a compe ive standpoint or from an easy way out stance? Since Muser is a wuss (LOL) ...I will take the former.
Best matchups:
Spurs vs. Suns one more time for old times sake ...suns squeak in ...
Mavs vs. Memphis (if healthy) or Denver (if they jell in time)
Lakers vs. Hornets
OKC vs. Blazers
all quality matchups Blazers probably only one with upset possibilities ...
I was talking more from a compe ive standpoint--which matches would provide the most entertainment. But I left the question open-ended so people can answer how they please.
1. Spurs
2. Mavs
3. Lakers
4. OKC
5. NO
6. Blazers
7. Nug
8. Suns
Spurs - Hornets, give spurs some rest before the Dallas series and then it'll be Dallas vs lakers in the WCF
Spurs v Suns would be a fun matchup.
Blazers v Thunder would also be highly compe ive
Lakers and Mavs series wouldn't be that compe ive unless they played each other.
It's funny that after all these years, people still enjoy watching Suns vs. Spurs![]()
Spurs vs. Suns possible storylines:
1. Manu and duncan crush Phoenix one more 'gen ...
2. Nash a second chance at spurs with no Bowen or Horry to harass him
3. Duncan against 2 lessor but solid 7 footers ...
4. hill vs. RJ
5. Parker vs. Nash
6. Vince (the talented coward) vs. manu (the toughest flopper in the NBA)
7. Neal vs Frye in a 3 point free for all
8. dudley vs. Hill
9. the long and short of it ... Warrick vs. Blair
Obviously spurs win but even 1 vs. 8 would be fun if suns can squeak in ...
Cue up highlights of all the crushing losses for the suns and then ..the skunker!! LOL
The Suns would put up a magnificent fight, but wouldn't be able to stretch it to 7. Dudley, Dragic, and Frye alone will probably win a game or two. Meanwhile, Half-man, Half-expiring contract will probably lose a game single-handedly.
Gortat vs. Duncan would be the most compelling matchup, imo. Dudley vs. Ginobili would be interesting, as well.
Spurs/Memphis: Memphis has the ability to frustrate the Spurs. The series wouldn't be in doubt, but the Spurs would definitely have to take the Grizz seriously.
Mavs/Nugz: Denver's speed could negate some of Dallas' size.
Lakers/Blazers: I think Portland would have the size and athleticism to make the lakers work.
Thunder/Hornets: Great PG matchup.
even the 4-1 Spurs vs. suns series are good. Spurs vs. Grizz is over in 5 or less, ditto Utah or Denver. even if suns lose in 5 it would be a GOOD 5 ...
Oh wait Devin harris is the parker stopper maybe they can push spurs to 6 ...LOL ...doubt it.
Spurs don't have to take Grizz seriously with Gay out and Mayo/Thabeet potentially gone for picks.
Gay is only out for 3 more weeks.
Rudy Gay rarely does anything against the Spurs and the Grizz still play the Spurs tough. It's OJ Mayo who always kills them. Obviously if the Grizz trade him the situation changes.
Thabeet's a joke. Losing him would make the Grizz better.
Ill take the doc route ...
Spurs STILL havent beaten the suns without Bowen, in a playoff series ... LOL
Haha. We still don't get any love. Good stuff!![]()
As a Spurs fan:
1- Spurs
2- Mavs
3- Lakers
4- OKC
5- New Orleans
6- Portland
7- Denver
8- Utah
San Antonio defeated the Suns 3-1 in 1998. Duncan's rookie season.
I didn't post mine yet, those are just the current standings as of this afternoon.
