As much as I hate to say it, Amare is becoming as close to an upstoppable force as there is in this league. I always thought he was overrated, but dude can ball.

Amare is the next post playing superstar. He IS unstoppable. He is averaging close to 40 a game against us.

Last guy I remember who did that was Hakeem, and he carried him team all the way that year.

If this Phoenix team would try to be just ALITTLE balanced, they would be even more dangerous, IMO. Amare is a beast in transition and in the half court.

I would say deny him the ball, but with Nash passing, that's also next to impossible.

Hopefully the Spurs will come up with a better solution before Saturday (just in case....)

He can score in just about any situation. He's really impressed me in this series. The Spurs haven't been able to do much to stop him with single coverage.

With a foundation of Amare and Nash and some really solid support players, they could really do some damage if they learned to play a little bit of defense. If they could even be average defensively, they would be very difficult to stop. And if they could be above average defensively, they would win this series.

But they aren't. And as such, things don't look good for them.

He is averaging 40 and can't win a game. Sounds like Kobe and Iverson. Nice.

As stated in the Blame Glog, I hope Amare scores 50 in a losing effort.

At this stage of his career, Amare < Kemp.

If Phoenix can get a decent bench in the future, they'll really be scary

    I say concentrate on Nash!

It has worked so far, 2-0!

This season we are 4-1 with Amare dominating. Let him get his, we can win that way!

Amare is an offensive beast like Nash, and like Nash, Amare isn't worth on the defensive end.

Sheesh! Give your team some credit. I didn't see Garnett win games all by himself this year.

I don't think it's as much Amare's defense as much as it's D'Antoni's philosophy. D'Antoni hates fouls which is the real reason the Suns give up a lot of points. A foul stops the game and if you feel you have the best conditioned team, you never want the game to stop. A couple times Amare could have contested shots, but he more than likely would have committed a foul. Even though he wasn't in foul trouble, stopping the clock is considered taboo to his coach.

I think part of what you have to understand is that we don't need to stop him or Nash to beat them. Having said that Amare has gotten the kind of calls that Jordan used to get only he's not Jordan and those calls have certainly helped.

Amare doesn't get calls any more than Duncan, Manu or Parker. The majority of his calls are because he's being contested in the key--not wide open jumers.

amare hasn't really impressed me at all. he is a one dimensional player like nash. he can score all he wants to, but he's still gonna give it up on the other end. the only thing i have ever seen him do on defense is come from the weak side to block shots on someone else's man. at least kobe and iverson play both sides of the game. when it matters and he has to guard duncan, he gets schooled - badly. if duncan was able to guard him the whole game and not instantly get in foul trouble, i think we would see quite a bit less production from amare. let him score, it's great for us.

I gotta disagree, the guy gets calls that Duncan should be getting but he's not Duncan, the only guy that got to the line more than him was Duncan.

There were at least a few times he wasn't fouled and got to the line.....

I think your perspective is a bit skewed. Duncan is the best PF in the game. Who expects Amare to stop him?
