im feelin 4 you. Dat shyt was dumb as 4 boston.
Honestly... wtf? Perkins is a great defender, and another big body in the paint... and you trade him (and Nate, who can make dumb decisions but can also make some shots) for Green and Krstic?
Really? Are you just giving up this season? Wtf is the reasoning?
im feelin 4 you. Dat shyt was dumb as 4 boston.
Less toughness
Less outside shooting at the PG position
Really, Danny Ainge, WTF
And yes, I'm aware that I'm inviting LOL Meltdown LOL Bostonfan comments. Feel free.
I'm baffled by what Boston has done, though I'm listening to WEEI right now (about 3pm) and they're saying that after Perk to OKC and after Erden/Harangody to CLE, the C's have another deal of some sort that has them landing the Clippers 2012 #1. Probably not over yet.
edit: apparently the LAC #1 in 2012 was property of OKC and was part of the Perkins/Green deal -- still confused about how LAC could trade their 2011 #1 to CLE yesterday.
This is too sad to be LOLable
WTF Ainge
LOL permission for LOL Bostonfan and LOL Meltdown
Thunder will send him back to Boston because he has a pinky eye during the exam
Yeah, this is REALLY stupid on the Celtics' part. Now the post options are an over-the-hill Shaq, a not as tough defensively Krstic, an always injured J O'Neal, and an unproven Erden. Plus, where does Green even fit in here? He obviously won't be starting like he was in OKC.
I understand trading Perkins for 2 tall players that could payoff, however including Nate Robinson imo really sets them back just a tad. I think OKC got the better end of this deal, Nate and Perkins will help them. I don't understand this move by Boston at all, giving up Nate was not a good idea. I'd say if it was just Perkins, pick for Green, Kristic it's a fair trade but letting Nate go, really he was a spark off the bench for that team. I guess they figure they don't need them anymore. Of course who knows, this might turn out well for the C's but they will miss Nate.

i guess the Celtics think:
-Perk's asking price would be too high after this season
-Perk's knee is worse than prev. thought
-They don't need Perk to beat the Heat
-They don't think LA is getting to the finals
Pretty big gamble on their part. Not like they have an extended window after this season so this move is kind of perplexing in that it hurts them in the short term.
maybe they wanted to match the lakers and get their own odom.
Actually I think the Lakers, Mavs, and Spurs fans that make up the bulk of this board want to kill Ainge just as bad as you do right now.
I thought that about the Odom green comparisons ...but LO is better ...
Still scratching my head ...not saying thay can NOT win without him (Perk)they have done it all season and Green gives them a "chance" (i guess) at defending Bron 1 on1 ... but mehhh I still don't like it.
Maybe it's part of a bigger plan like the CaronforKwamefor Pau ...Ainge is just two moves ahead and we all can't see it?

Not worried about Green at all, on any team, at any position.
You're assuming they were thinking. Big assumption.
All pretty dumb reasons to be honest. (I'm not saying you're dumb for coming up with them, those are the only ones I could think of too, but they're still dumb.)
Yup. Pretty re ed.
And if form holds (sinday's game is big) and we at 3 and OKC at 4 ...perk just became a HUGE obstacle in the way of Duncan's 5th ...
Danny Ainge discovered the ESPN trade machine today
Can you say 3peat LnGrrrR?
I'll have to hope that OKC takes you guys out this year.![]()
Maybe they were worried about how Pierce's offensive game tanks, when guarding Lebron? Green has the size and some quickness to guard lebron but no one stops him ... and now Perk is no longer there to intimidate him at the rim ...
lol i def agree with you. just trying to fig out wtf Ainge is thinking.
As a spurs fan, im just as mad because OKC is a real tough out now in the 2nd.
Celtics saw and realized that teams like Spurs playing fast, all other teams are playing fast. They saw this year Perkins would probably be useful only vs. Lakers. and it's a 1% chance to see Lakers in this year's finals.
Celtics did not make a bad move. they played on the odds and odds are Perkins would be a liability more than asset. And also I agree his knee is probably shot.
Only problem with that is Green is garbage so who gives a .
