Mavs are regular season wonders and always fall flat on their face when it matters.

    30 years of history
    Championships - 0
    Conference les - 1

Fortunately, Chandler had Mahinmi to come in and bail his ass out tonight.

Unfortunately you cant dump the ball into chandler when you need a bucket. Mavs only effective plays down the stretch of games is either a Dirk iso or Dirk/JET pick n roll.

Mavs are still a damn good team, and just like I tell Spurs fans, just because there is a glaring problem, doesn't mean they aren't a damn good team.

Mavs, while they seem to score just fine (thanks, Dirk), lack playmakers and creators for themselves. Losing Caron hurts. Replacing him with Peja/Roddy is at best a wash (doesn't seem like it at the moment either). But they needed to make a move.

Mavs don't attempt to dump the ball into Chandler on a consistent
enough basis to really see what they can get from him.
The one thing I wish RC would add to the offensive side.

He hasnt had any type of post game his whole career. His is an excellent finisher at the rim with lobs and such but more often then not, you dont gets those in the closing seconds of playoffs games. He has added the elbow jumper to his game this season which is nice but thats not something I want ran for him or an iso post up play down the stretch of playoff games

You also saw the extreme lack of talent/playmaking with Dirk out. Obviously, if you lose Dirk you are going to struggle, but there was literally no one on the team that could step up and resemble a go-to guy offensively.

it appears we aren't going to give roddy enough slack to develop into what we need from him, at least not this season, and essentially peja for butler was the most re ed swap i think we've made to date. with wallace we would be contenders, now we just have another gaping hole (perimeter defense) on top of our previous gaping hole (lack of another creator, #2 option)

it's just too much to overcome teams just cannot win constructed this way
    apparently we can, 40-7 ecstasy

also, Matrix is every bit the defender G-Force is..

Chandler doesn't have a back to a basket game. Damn 41, don't you even know your favorite team?

we're on a 16 game win streak if not for fluke Denver game and people acting like the Mavs are the most flawed team ever

Curbstomping Toronto, Washington, Philly etc. don't mean when we don't have anyone to throw at Kobe, except maybe our reserve SF/PF.

I think Ghazi forgot they were the 2nd seed last year and lost to the 7th seed.

    when healthy:

    2-0 v Heat
    2-0 v Celtics
    1-0 v Spurs
    0-2 v Bulls
    1-0 v Lakers
    1-0 v Magic

last years team was a little different. inferior margin of victory, some bizarre showings (34 point loss to Knicks comes to mind), etc etc

40-7 is really hard to just brush off. I know a chunk of that was w/ Butler, but I digress.

to say the Mavs play like this every regular season isnt really true. they didnt look this good in the past 3 regular seasons.

Mavs were undoubtedly better than last year, with Butler healthy.

They have also had some spectacular regular seasons in the past 3 years.

51 wins, 50 wins, 55 wins (w/ MoV less than 3)... I dont think those are that spectacular compared to 40-7 ecstasy
