Anyone got one? I just bought the starter pack for my Mitsubishi tvs along with 6 sets of glasses.

Some of the ps3 games look great, black ops was a game I really want to try and the 3D effect isn't that great. The Kill Zone demo look really good.

As for movies, legends of the Guardian look good when the family and I watch it. I downloaded Avatar (16 gb) and tested it. Look really nice, wish the bluray wasn't a Panasonic exclusive.

I'm not planning on getting one

I dont think 3DTV will work in the long term

(And God bless Nolan for not making the next Batman in 3D)

    I could be wrong though

I don't know if it will last also but I'm always jumping on new at home tech, I still have my Nintendo Virtual boy with about 5 games and that lasted less than a year.

Sad to say I never jump on the HDdvd bandwagon, Wish I did so I could say I took part in it.

I'll wait until they figure out how to do it without glasses like they did with the 3DS.

Yeah, waiting for no glasses 3d.
Same... those 3d glasses won't last 5 minutes in a house with three kids.

    LCD > Plasma

    TBH

TBH Plasma is way closer to the theater experience. Great black levels and great off-axis viewing is what makes Plasma great. at those buying tv's based on bright store viewing. How often you watch tv at the brightness of a store.

Most new high-end HDTVs have 3D whether you want it or not.

I love my LCDs because they were fairly cheap and have a great picture. But I want a plasma because the colors and contrast levels are amazing. Anyone who thinks different doesn't know what they're talking about.

The only thing that is competing with plasma in the color and contrast department is LED, but plasma is a cheaper alternative.

Only full array with local dimming LED's are close. The edge-lit ones are actually inferior to LCD's in performance. And yes if you have problems with glare, then a Plasma wouldn't be the right choice. Blackout shades and the problem is fixed.

In terms of PQ, plasma and LCD still haven't matched the good ol' CRT tech unless you drop major coin for one of the top tier new tech models.

Advantages that plasma and LCD have over CRT have almost nothing to do with PQ.

When I need a new TV I might buy one that has it as an option on it, but it's nothing I would be buying the TV for.
