FENNVILLE, Mich. -- A Michigan high school's star basketball player collapsed on the court Thursday and later died after making a game-winning layup in overtime to cap his team's perfect season.![]()
Leonard, a junior who also excelled as the quarterback of the Blackhawks football team, was "by far the best player on that basketball team -- outstanding athlete," said coach Mike Miller, whose Bridgman team lost 57-55 in overtime to Fennville Thursday night.
Black Swan of high school basketball?
wtf? wow, condolences to his family and teammates.
no, it's not early enough for your stupid one-liners. GTFO
Saw this in the morning. Sad. But if he loved ball probably not a bad way to go and I am not making a joke. Just saying if he is gonna die that young, he could of been at home, playing pickup ball or screwing some skank cheerleader. He passed after hitting the game winner he gave his team his last breath for an undefeated season ...true warrior.
Really sad though and wished it did NOT happen ... plus that has to be traumatic not only for his family, but his team, his friends and fellow students.
actually, thats probably the best way to go at that age. most kids i know who died did so in car wrecks or overdose.
at least he went out on top.
from the guy with the foreshadowing screename
Mr Sheen must've picked out your name. He does plan better.
Damn, that's terrible.![]()
Darn, I feel bad for the kid. It reminds me that any of us can pass away at any time, damn...
it. I'll say it.
"Cause of death: Winning"
So sad for this to happen. On a lighter side it sounded like he passed without any pain, and he died doing something he loved. Thoughts and prayrers go out to his friends and family. RIP
