Steve Novak took the most important phone call of his career at a blackjack table. It was the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, the biggest gambling day of the year, and Novak was killing time.
Fresh from the road, the Reno Bighorns of the NBA’s Development League were home and putting their newest acquisition up in a hotel casino, but Novak’s room wasn’t ready. Through a haze of smoke -- “It was killing me,” he says -- Novak wandered to over to a table to wait. His cell phone rang.
Over the sound of casino chatter and slot machins, Novak heard a familiar voice. “Steve,” his agent began, “I’ve got good news.”

Great read. Nice guys on board with the Spurs. Hope we win it all this year.
The Mark Wahlberg stunt double got some kind words from JVG at the Lakers game as well. He called Steve Novak one of the best shooters EVER and that the 3 point shooting contest was basically designed for him to win. He'd even take Novak over some of the most famous sharpshooters in the NBA for what its worth.
Anyway good article and now I know a of a lot about a guy that probably won't see much playing time but reading about your team's new players is fun. Its cool that he got such a great streak of breaks and he seems like a Spurs type except when it comes to defense but he is one of a sharpshooter and even has a couple of game winning shots to his career.

Can hit a jump shot, probably does VERY well in practice hitting shots keeping the defense honest.
Always gotta have guys like Novak on your team.
