I doubt Shaquille carried Bean when he avg'd 33 points against Los Espuelas in the 2001 WCF. I think it was the other way around .........
That's like saying that Parker was the best player on the Spurs in '07 and they wouldn't have beat the Cavs without him going nuts.
4-0.

This goes back since Shaq L.A
Kobe is a great winner and all. No need to take what he is deserved.
But Shaq is (was) Shaq. A fricking force of nature. And I hated (and still do) the guy... I know some Lakers fans want to changea bit their own history, and claim Shaq was a minor part of thei old Lakers machine, but back then, it was Shaq over Kobe (in my own opinion, by a small margin).
This topic does remind me now how some Kobe fans like to say he is so gangsta, no weasel, etc. I just remembered how he ratted out Shaq on the first day when he was arrested on the rape charge.
so you're saying the Lakers would have beaten the Spurs without Bean in 2001??? You gotta be on the serious juice. Shaquille was the best player on those squads but someone averaging 28 points a game that year, can't be considered a role player.
Real NBA Finals: 2001 WCF. Best player on the floor and Finals MVP: Bean Bryant.
4-0
Shaquille was the back then and its a travesty he has one MVP award. He was option 1. Go inside out. I have no problem with that but when you can't even go to option one at the end of games or option one comes into camp fat and outta shape, there's a serious problem.
I always said if Shaquille had the work ethic of Bean or Jordan, he'd be the greatest player of all time .......
ashy with the goods
No. I said they didn't need Parker to go nuts. Cleveland was an inferior team and the Spurs were a busted team.
The WCF may have been the de facto NBA Finals but all Kobe did was take advantage of a matchup, a la Parker.
Shaq was kind of a big deal. Kobe was and is great but there's no mistaking who the most dominant force was on that team and how his presence affected everyone and everything else on the court.
Kool bob love, the man without a schtick. I know guys, Ill pretend to be a Kanye fan, and then ill try to pseudo-troll
