Where did Thorton come from? Any owner who missed out on him is an idiot.
The Hornets gifted him to the Ki--Royals because Monty Williams didn't want a shooting guard who could contribute every night.
Thornton is playing well. Whether or not he can do that for a winning team is another thing. Crazy there are no more Sacto Kings.
Wow...if this really goes down--then the SoCal area will have two ty teams and an elite team. Don't know if the Royals/Kings could sustain a better run down here then, say, up in the Northwest as a viable replacement for the Sonics. I know that there is still dispute over luring a team to the Emerald City, but I don't see how this team would fare any better behind the Orange Curtain as opposed to going elsewhere (Vegas... , even San Diego might be a better move...)
They'll be fine. OC will support them.
What's the point of having two Clippers in one locale though? I mean, good that I can see the Lakers 2 more times a year, but lol...we'll see.
Cuz OC is big enough to support a team
We'll see...Machina...we'll see...
I live in Corona, which isnt too far from Honda Center...im the biggest Lakers fan there is, but trust me...ill be heading to Honda Center for more games...just cuz its more convenient and more affordable. Plus i lived in Anaheim for about 6 years.
Corona, eh? I think I have a few ex-gfs that call the Crown home or have family there.
I would go see more games since it is cheaper and technically closer to me than Staples, but I am interested to see how much support the OC will give a team that may be muddled in losing seasons. You look at the Angels and though they've routinely been in the top 5 in attendance, people forget that they couldn't draw much when they sucked (Disney ownership days...who could forget the periwinkle jerseys lol) and have only been at their highest with the compe iveness shown in the past decade or so. Hopefully they do well, but I'm not sure I'd embrace 'em.
More like Angels and Dodgers + Padres playing within miles of each other...could be cool if all three were good.
no one gives a about the clippers....if the clippers were smart, they woulda moved to the Honda Center a long time ago.
That is true...perhaps we should send the Clippers to SacTown or Duarte...
Wow. The fact that they would even consider changing the name to the Los Angeles Royals is a slap to the face of a) Sacramento fans who have hated LA and the Lakers and b) The Anaheim crowd who believe their city is better than LA. It isnt.
I dont live in Anaheim or LA but when the Angels changed their name it made me a happy camper.
Hardly a done deal...Bottom line, we don't want them...
(AP) -- The Sacramento Kings have taken yet another step toward a potential move to Southern California...With the Kings exploring relocation to Anaheim, a Sacramento attorney representing the team's owners filed papers to copyright the les "Anaheim Royals" and "Royals of Anaheim"
Kings have really went downhill since winning the le, tbh..
OC has enough people and people with money to support them. There are enough people who will probably buy season tickets just for the sake of having them or because they think it's some kind of status symbol to make it more profitable than Sac. That being said, I hope they don't move to So Cal. We already have one ty team taking up space we don't need another one.
Indeed. We all know which team runs L.A...we don't need more clinger-ons that's for damn sure.
If it happens the Lakers basically would get 2 more home games each year.
