LOL, Spurs would have to trade up to #2 in the best case, though #1 more likely. Nice to finally see one of the projected top 5 declare after Sullinger and Barnes decided to stay. I really hope this means Rivers gets some time learning to play point with Irving and Smith gone, though I'm sure Cook will do the majority of work at the point.

Speaking of Irving, I wonder what Minnesota will do if they land the #1. Picking Irving wouldn't make much sense if they think they can sign Rubio. Derrick Williams wouldn't either with Beasley already there. Kanter would seem the obvious choice since Milicic isn't that good; too bad for them that Barnes didn't declare, as having a good perimeter defender who can knock down the three and finish in transition would have made a lot of sense for them.

It's a known FACT that Irving has no ACLs. He'll fall to pick 30.
If he falls to 30, the Spurs should pick him.

In this weak of a draft I think he'd need to be clinically dead to fall to 30. Even in a vegetative state I think he'd have a chance to go in the mid first round.

...If Minnesota takes n° 1, I would take a look at the chance of selling Rubio for another top 5 draft pick (see, for example, Sacramento as possibly interested) and then ...and then draft Irving (n° 1) and Kanter.

Normally, I'd think it would be difficult to get that kind of value on Rubio considering how he's struggled recently, but probably not in a draft this bad. I get the feeling Minnesota is pretty invested in Rubio's potential drawing power, though.

Because he's an interesting player and because there are lots of non-Spurs fans at Spurstalk?

The Wolves would more than likely move Flynn.

Flynn probably won't get them much in return with the season he just had; especially considering how his hip surgery took so long to come back from and how he was constantly in and out of the lineup. They'd be better off holding onto him and using him in a Boykins role and hoping he responds, whether or not they take Irving or bring in Rubio.
