Rick Barnes isn't going anywhere now that I think about it. He's a loser though.
Good game, tough loss for you guys. Rick Barnes' shouldn't have a job by the end of the week.

Not Barnes fault... horrible call, then horrible no call. Robbed. He still sucks as a coach though so toss his ass.
Wildcats played great. Jim Burr should be the one without a job very soon. He was the official who made the no call on Kemba's three vs UT that was a second after the buzzer, blew the St Johns/Rutgers game, and now this:
Granted, if UT ever played with any intelligence they wouldn't find themselves on the wrong end of things like this, but dude is still awful.
Yeah I read that too somewhere.
Huh???
I might be wrong about that actually. Was just told that the announcer ed that up and that rule doesn't exist. Not sure who is right. If that's not the case and you can call the timeout at any point, then the ref certainly ed up big time.
I'm wrong. The announcer on TV was incorrect and apologized per his twitter:
So, yeah. I understand why texas is pissed. That ref looked like he was in a hurry to get to 5 seconds. My earlier tweet was incorrect. A player can call a time out up until the ref counts to five. Rule changed several years ago. Apologies.
It was a tough game to lose. Neither team deserved the loss. Will say that there were plenty of touch fouls in favor of Texas that helped get them back into the game, so I think it all balances out. Before the in-bounds, I had cursed UA's horrible FT shooting for the loss, yet again. I'm glad they took advantage of their rare second opportunity.
Glad to see Gary Johnson playing. Kid had some tough breaks. Was bitter when he initially picked Texas over Arizona in 2007. Sucked. Probably best decision for him, though, with all the issues he's gone through (heart condition).
I've been critical of Barnes. Don't think this loss is on him. He adjusted his gameplan three times until it worked. His defense harassed Williams all night. Solid job managing foul trouble as well.
I didn't understand that rule either, it makes sense now that it actually doesn't exist. I see players desperately call for a timeout right before the 5 all the time.
I think this was the same crew that messed up a Big East Tournament game so they might have just been paniced.
Not the entire crew, but yes to the crew chief in today's game being a part of that game.
Cartmell, the guy that called the 5 seconds violation, is actually a Pac-10 ref and would not be doing big east games.

Oh well... The calls may or may not have been blown, but Texas sucked today anyway. They really shouldn't be complaining. They looked lost for most of the game which is exactly how they looked against Nebraska and Colorado which they ironically won't have to see again.
I've never understood the motivation of the producers for zooming in on that . I can imagine them in the production room like "Hurry, find some crying kid so we can humiliate them!".
The are you so happy about? Your team (assuming you even attended A&M) lost in the first round.
Aggies and their obsession with UT... get a life
81-60 (wait until we play in CS!) 69-49 (wait until we play in the Big 12 tournament!). 70-58 (whoop! UT didn't get to the final four!) this confirms my su ion that aggies love to see UT fail more than actually doing well themselves.
Holy ! When the did that happen?
Thank God for JCB. Hopefully he gets a lot more playing time (aka he starts) next year to show that he can do this on a regular basis.
Did the ref up? Yes. Is it the reason Texas lost the game? no.
Subs having career games. Texas' lack of offense in the first half. Jordan calling a timeout after a rebound up 2 with 12 seconds left. JCB being the only option on the inbounds where the 5 second call occured. JCB being a little slow up the court at the end of the game. Barnes, while a great recruiter and first half of the season coach, needs to be on the hot seat.
That being said, if JH and TT decide to stay maybe the talent gap will be so large that Barnes can't it up. Maybe.
edit: Forgot about JH's matador defense on UA's last offensive play. Dude, if you know you can't make it for the charge, get the out of the way or actually foul the guy. Two bone headed plays in a row for him that probably cost Texas the game. Of course, he kept them in it in the first half. It really is feast or famine with him.
I hate UT and the overwhelming majority of their fans, but they got ed on that call.
Let's not forget that if they give up the basket after that turnover they go to overtime. The most re ed attempt to draw a charge ever is what got them knocked out.
JH cost them that game IMO. Solo Hill has been an inconsistent disappointment this year but whenever UA needed a bucket to kill UT's momentum it was "Let Solomon Hill go to work on Hamilton". His defense was terrible and gave UA a scoring option not named Derrick Williams.
This. Hill absolutely raped JH. You could tell it was unusual for him to have that kind of an impact on the game from the way Kerr was jackin' it on the sidelines.
