No one is saying that the administration lied about the possibility that Saddam may have once possessed WMD. The administration manipulated intelligence to support claims that Saddams weapon program were still active and a 'clear and immediate' threat to the U.S. and our interests. One could see how democrats who received biased intelligence from the C.I.A., could be manipulated into believing that Saddam still possessed these weapons.

Despite the urging of P.N.A.C., Clinton never invaded Iraq based solely on intelligence that could not be supported by first-hand credible sources.

The problem with bad intel is that you don't find out it's bad until after the fact. So, IMO, the question becomes, do you err on the side of caution or do you gamble that it is bad intel, possibly at the expense of the safety of your people?

I think when your starting a war you err on the side of caution. Look, the U.S. main human asset in Iraq prior to the war was Ahmed Chalabi, a man the U.S. now says was acting in the best interest of Iran at the time, and a man known to have had political ambitions in a free Iraq.

There are other things just now coming to light.

The oil-for-food scandal, for example. It now appears that Saddam Hussein was diverting millions in OFF kickbacks to al Qaeda through a front company -- the Iraqi government owned -- in the United Arab Emirates.

I'm telling you...when the truth comes out, it'll be bigger than an Nbadanallah conspiracy and will finally show why France, Russia, Germany, and the U.N. Secretary General's office were so opposed to this war.

Everybody, including the U.S. was making money of the Food for Aid program. The U.S. let Syria import oil from Iraq in exchange for Syrian cooperation in the war on terrorism. That is, until the media caught wind of the illegal pipeline. Then the Neocons twisted it to seem like it was Syria doing it behind the back of the U.S. led export embargo.
