Tony was stoned, tuned out, bad face.
I can't be the only one who sees that detached, stoned look on his face in his bad games.
Is that almost everyone redeemed themselves and had an effort to be proud of in the second half.
Hill, Bonner, Neal, Blair, Dice, they all played so much better in the second half than the first half.
Parker was the only guy who played worse in the second half. Manu was pretty good both halves, slightly better in the second. Tiago was great in the first half and barely got to play in the second half.
The guys scrapped their tails off defensively. Portland had a lot of open threes in the first 1/3 of the game and after that the Spurs rotated to it pretty well and also the Blazers cooled off some. We just gave them too many easy points with turnovers and free throws.
It seems obvious that Pop will never trust rookies. He didn't trust Hill, he didn't trust Blair last year and he doesn't trust Tiago now. Only 21 minutes? He wasn't even in foul trouble.
I ing want to choke him sometimes. Loss on Pop and Tony.

What pisses me off is how everyone is so god damn intimidated of Pop. His coaches never tell him he's being a stubborn moron and god forbid these idiots that cover the team ever ask him a real question. He just stares them down and dares them to ask him and they're all too chicken to

The Spurs played heroically in 2006 when Pop decided to bench the centers against the Mavs and the Spurs had to learn how to play small on the fly. Didn't really matter then either.

The only thing that really bothers me is Manu always going for the dagger. It's the definition of double-edged, and it's great when it works and ty when it doesn't. We got away from ball movement at the end of the 4th and it cost us the game IMO. I'm not worried or concerned tho, it's so clear what Tim brings to this team that I just hope we can hold onto the #1 seed and keep everyone healthy for the playoffs.
I don't think I'd give much of a if the coach didn't care enough about offense to put the best defender into the game. The Spurs have been practicing with Splitter all year long, and Manu's never said anything less than glowing about him to the papers. I'd love to see someone finally say something about these re ed decisions.
Bonner almost saved the team's ass with that block. Too bad it landed in the wrong hands.
Yeah, did you see the Pop interview. He looked exactly the same.

Bull ... you could tell he was seething and didn't want to be there.
You cant possibly tell me that Splitter was too tired to put him in there in the final 5-6 minutes of the game when the Spurs were up 10. Why Pop stuck with Blair I have no idea. I know the guy helped you get that 10 point lead, but come on now....Blair on Aldridge in crunch time= FAIL.
