Gains come from cost cuts and layoffs

At a time most employees can barely remember their last substantial raise, median CEO pay jumped 27% in 2010.

Exec salaries soaring, employee salaries stagnating, unemployment by the many Ms, these are all unrelated. It's not a zero-sum game, the pie is infinite, just get off your ass, work hard and become wealthy. Everybody can do it, possibilities are limitless.

If this is a problem, why do you think the Board of Directors at these companies actually pay these rates for CEO's. Surly they can find someone will to work for less.

"Board of Directors at these companies actually pay these rates for CEO"

some/all of the board members are invited to the board by the CEO. aka "friends of the boss"

    board members select the CEO

CEO and board members define each other's compensation.

and of course, there's always the lie that "talent costs money",which is why Wall st pays so well to hire people that bankrupt Wall st and the planet's economy.

lol people getting bent cuz CEOs are making record profit. If being a CEO was easy, don't ya'll think EVERYONE would be doing it? Nay! It takes a certain slimy ass mother er to organize a money making entreprise - especially in this economy. If they are saving money for their people, no matter how they do it - they deserve a raise. Unlike the rest of those parasites out there teaching to tests, wanting 3 weeks vacation for your Islam pilgrimage, etc, etc, etc.

Simply put, CEOs are the reason this country still floats.

inb4 boutons says "CEOs keep us afloat, in a ter of apathy and moral banktupcy."
