Ever heard of gambler's fallacy?
Each time the Spurs lost the first playoffs game they won the championships.
History always repeats.
2003 lost the first home game against the Suns
Spurs=NBA champions
2005 lost the first home game against the Nuggets
Spurs=NBA champions
2007 lost the first home game against the Nuggets
Spurs=NBA champions
2011 lost the first home game against the Grizzlies
Spurs=?
I'm confident.
Ever heard of gambler's fallacy?
We lost our 1st playoff games in 09 and 10. We didn't win a championship those years.
Bake him away, toys.

This what I immediately thought afterwards, haha.
I remember we have a prime Duncan and also BIGS that could play (Robinson, Horry, Nazr, Oberto, Malik and even Rasho)
Let's not forget 99, we lost game 2 against minnesota.
Not the same team. Not the same situation. Did any of those teams never have a playoff win before they won on the one seed's home court?
another tool living in the past
Lost 1 game against Minny.
And also see every other post in this thread.
Bowen or Horry would have hit the 3 that Hill and RJ missed.
prime duncan makes a HUGE difference.
Bowen or Horry wouldn't have allowed the three by Battier.
Those teams played defense..
Great post, OP. Odd year, lose game one. we're equaling class right now. And in a world of hype, we just win.
We're not losing this series. The next one eiher. After that I don't know.
But the difference is those years we didn't have a team to win it all and everybody knew that.
this year it feels different , we're the number one team in west and we have the team to win it all.
It's impossible that the Spurs lose a series against memphis
The Spurs don't play defense anymore.
shut the up re .
I'll cut my balls and eat them if the lakers goes to the finals.
And the lakers are losing tonight.![]()
I said 1 game, game 2
Yeah but we had a prime Timmy and Manu. We had role players with balls (Bowen, Horry) and we played defense. Our rotation right now consists of Bonner, Blair, RJ, Hill, and Neal. And I bet Pop would have benched most of them when he still preached defense.
"we have the team to win it all."
No, the 61 wins was full of flukey wins, a record of fool's gold.
No defense, depending on 3s, etc
maybe I exagerated a little bit but everyboby agree that we have the best team over the last 3 years
Those teams didn't have Bonner spreading the floor and playing awesome defense.
With Ginobili tonight the Spurs would have won this game easily and the stars would have rested in the 4th quarter.
